So, funny story...after a ton of troubleshooting, going back to previous restore points, etc, I finally found out that it was due to Nvidia Image Scaling, which I had turned on a couple days ago and didn't realize it caused a problem. No idea why NIS would cause monitor profiles to fail to load, but there you have it. It took me installing Monitor Profile Switcher and have a similar error with that to realize that something else was going on and it wasn't a DisplayFusion specific problem. I can now replicate the problem perfectly by enabling NIS, and then the problem goes away immediately after disabling it. I'll attach the troubleshooting info and my log file anyway just in case you want to look into it.

I keep getting this error too no matter what I do. I've tried deleting and recreating profiles, tried disconnecting monitors to see if one was the problem, nothing. It just won't change profiles without error 87 coming up. I've even reverted back to version 9.9 and that had no effect. This was working for me only a couple weeks ago, and now it's not, and absolutely nothing has changed except that I updated my bios and some drivers.

Quote:
I have gotten this same issue if I change the ports on my GPU. For example if I have monitor profiles set with Displayport 1 on my GPU, then switch the monitor to DP 2 none of my monitor profiles work anymore and I get the same error as in OP.

So for some reason they seem to be tied to the port used rather than DF just detecting which port is using display with a specific EDID or something.

On this clue I set up the monitor profiles again and saved them over the old profiles. They now work correctly. I had changed one of the ports on one of the monitors.

Problem solved for now but might be worth tying the saved profiles to something dynamic.
