Obviously detecting the physical size of a monitor isn't an option, but if we could manually set the physical dimensons of the screen (27", 24", etc), then with that, Windows display settings' monitor orientation, and the resolution I'm sure some simple math could more accurately calculate the bounds of the monitors. Obviously the tricky part is having the mouse movement change to match.... But with larger monitors becoming very common nowadays for both workstations and gaming, this would be a very welcome addition.
For instance, I have a 27" 1440p monitor, a 24" 1080p monitor and a 22" 1080p monitor that is vertical. These varying sized make it very annoying to get the mouse to align when moving between monitors.

Is there a way this feature request can be revisited? I feel it is much more needed now that we have larger displays as a standard.
After I posted this wrote a quick program to try and do this. I'm still working on it but I basically defined 2 zones at the side of the screen and if the mouse entered them moving toward the edge I move the mouse cursor to the equivalent position in the zone on the other monitor.

It is still buggy but it seems to be working in theory. The only difficult part would be defining the zones. Maybe A user interface to define the zones then.

I will certainly add this to our feature request list. I've got a monitor setup here that I have put in an attachment. I am using a laptop and 2 old monitors.

The old monitors are large but have a lower resolution than the laptop monitor.

I have them setup so that the mouse appears to transition relatively smoothly by raising the 2 old monitors up enough that they only overlap by a small amount with the laptop monitor, though it still doesn't work perfectly.

When they are level, the mouse will jump vertically about 3 inches when I move from one screen to another.
(this could be simulated by selecting a lower resolution on a monitor).

This issue is an extreme case of what is described in this article:
http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/14875/make-windows-position-your-dual-monitors-correctly/

What I would really like to do is add a 4th monitor above the other 3 that is also smaller that the laptop monitor and still have the mouse move smoothly from 1 monitor to another
