I'm guessing you're splitting them into two double wide screens? If you're splitting them into two double tall screens, then Windows + Arrow Key is probably your best bet for getting it to quickly do what you want. I never did get the whole slamming the window into an edge of a DF virtual monitor to work.

Windows 10 has better support for slamming with physical monitors at least, so I can now slam to the inside edges as well as the outside. I set up DF profile selection hotkeys to work along side my NVidia Surround toggle hotkey for the fast switching, which alleviated most of my issues from before. When it takes about 5 seconds to switch between physical and surround setups I rarely need more splits, so I stopped working on the issue.

Edit:

The error message only occurs occasionally, and still happens on the new operating system.
It just always happens on my machine when I drag a currently-windowed window to the top; it stays in windowed mode and goes back to its previous position. It doesn't even move to the top of the screen.

If I drag a currently-maximized window to any other screen it will snap as expected.

Edit: Windows 7 64-bit, latest version of DisplayFusion. Happens on my 2560x1440 monitor split down the center into two.

Okay, yes, dragging a full screen window and just letting it go on a new split (as opposed to slamming it into the top of the monitor/split) works. That'll take some getting used to.

Is it possible to quickly switch between surround and normal extended desktop, maybe even binding surround/normal to different DF profiles? That would really solve all of my multi-monitor woes I think!

I believe DF disabled nVidia's processes that used to provide this functionality on the Windows+P key combination. If I recall, I had to let DF disable those processes because if I didn't a lot of other stuff behaved all wonky!

The left/right Aero Snap functions won't work, as Windows doesn't know about the splits, so it still sees it as one large display, making Aero Snap only work on the far left/right edges. However, you can set key combinations on DisplayFusion's "Size and Move Window to Left/Right Side" functions on the Settings > Functions tab, and they will respect the splits

Dragging to the top to maximize should respect the splits though. Does it only fail right after loading the Monitor Profile?

Unfortunately it's not possible to force full screen applications to resize to the splits, due to the way the full screen windows are rendered.

I have three physical monitors merged in nVidia Surround. I currently use two DF monitor configuration profiles to quickly switch between having one large, bezel-corrected display and one large, non-bezel-corrected display Virtually re-split into three monitors by DF. Theoretically I should be able to switch between a gaming friendly setup and a work friendly setup with a few keystrokes as opposed to re-configuring surround in the nVidia control panel every time.

This I think is a major benefit of using display fusion! Or it would be if I could get it to work.

My main problem is that in the re-split profile. Window snapping does not properly respect the boarders of my splits. the Maximize function (pushing the window to the top of the screen / windows + up) USUALLY works after a few tries. I have yet to get the left-right snap functions (pushing window to the side / windows + left / windows + right) to work at all! So instead of getting the 960px wide window I want I end up with a 2880px wide window!

Is there also a way to get full-screen programs to respect monitor splits? My monitors are 16:10 so any full-screen media in 16:9 gets cut in three sections across my wide bezels.

How can I get window management to work better with virtual monitor borders?
