The TB issues existed before last update?
I really dont know.

Do I want to find it?
No, really ,no.

I did have W10 positioning issues?
yes, so I used DF to solve them.

Do I still have W10 positioning issues
No, but DF may help some time.

Does DF really matter for everydays operations now.
NO.

Results:
Now DF for me is an hindrance, it create more problem then I have use of it.
I did pinpoint where the problem reside,
I'm happy.

On your side:
if I am the only Customer with this problem it can be my system:

[White] It's a near two years old W10 who is in need of a full reinstall,
I need to finish install & personnalisations on the second PC [Black] to relocate there my activity temporary,
then reinstall and roll back on [white].

I will then try DF both systems and report back if the issue is still there.

Is that ok for you?

Ok, this is a tough one! If you roll back to DisplayFusion 9.6.1 for a few days, is everything ok there?

No, TB first time in a malformed windows!!

As stated Previously only four programs where involved in "miniaturization".

You have to check back in this discussion.
I've dedicated a post on that.

B U T = Yes and no:
TB locks appeared randomly during the days,
I didnt was aware of them for hours maybe,
often I discovered after having no mails all day long,
unless I was expecting a real-time mail that was not arriving.
Or somebody phoning "have you read my email?" - ?what email? -
.
Every time I had to restart the PC, no reason given.

I cannot relate this issue to any DF command,
because TB is not a program in the startup sequence.

That means that after boot up....
I placed in position windows already opened after 2 minutes
... then I launched manually:
TB
Whattsapp
Brave
Discord/Telegram

usually in that sequence, using the taskbar pinned tasks

Now I know for sure DF interact with TB
(ten days no DF and so no TB issues)
... but no idea how and why !!

Thanks, that's really strange! Does that issue with locking up happen every time you try to load the positions when Thunderbird is running?

Sorry for the very-----long post.
- First you have the Crono Log
at the End my finding
-and my suppositions.
(x) = file number

- Boot - Wait 4 minutes - take FullScreen (1)
- Launch Df - hit Alt+Ctrl+3 (send to saved position) -nothing strange here
- Generate Info (2) - FullScreen (3)
Work some on PC have to go out 4 hours.
I come back, TV Screen is off. Turn on TV Screen hit mouse. PC wake up.

Something strange ( I see) cannot define what is it .

Just for test I hit Alt+Ctrl+3 with Thunderbird's windows open..
LO!!
. Everything got garbled
. TB' window Crap
. some windows moved around withouth any logic

:
Take FullScreen (4)
Try to open DF to generate another Info - Cannot open DF.
Cannot Close TB, (crashed?) Kill TB.
Try again DF. Cannot still open DF.

a) Nothing of this happened during last 10 days that I dont use anymore Df.

b) On Reboot W10 lost the correct positions.
It doesnt do that if DF is not running.

c) Malformed windows seems to appear ONLY when DF is running.

d) Wake up must have triggered some DF actions (internal I suppose)
I've never having made any specific task for that event.

!!) It's the first time in ten days that TB lock itself.
- it happened twice a day or more while using DF -
(just reasoned that out)
In ten days no other programs stopped working !!
(wow, didnt perceive that also !!!!)

- I tought that my W10 was in bad need of a re-install !!

After 3 minutes I'll launch DF

I'm not sure if I will get any malformed windows,

If you could make DF the last program to start, and then send me the Troubleshooting info after it's started and the windows get messed up, that would be great!

At the moment my system is running without DF from msg #16
(3 days 15 hours)

In this time I didn't got any of previous issues.
so far, so good... less DF.

So let me do it the way you prefer:

Should I start DF as the first program to load ...
or the last ??

Do you want me to generate the report ... any time
or when I get something strange??

Could you attach a new copy of your DisplayFusion troubleshooting info?

Open the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
Click the "Export Info to File" button
Reply with the file attached

Not sure of a)
pretty sure of b)

please get the correct information:
malformed Windows are MINIATURIZED
size is reduced and contents are somehow scaled.
(both pics and text)
...so you can see the full content in an 1/8 size windows.

if you move it,
the size dont change but the content réassume the correct size,
not fitting the windows anymore and you cannot see the full content.

Small update:

4 reboots / boots with NO DF

I didn't got any miniaturized Windows....

....while all the programs start directly in last position. (see pic 2)

That wasn't happening when DF was into the boot sequence,
I even tried to put it into the delay queue,
but the problem arise as soon DF start.

Update:
Got it !!

It's DF definitively

I Modified my boot sequence letting all the programs start.....
... less that 4 offending ones
AND DF.

Strangely all the program's windows started already placed where they were expected to be:
on the secondary monitor!
- usually I have to "send them to position" using Alt+Ctrl+3

Then I launched the 4 manually, the last TaskManager as you can see.
- everything normal so far, they started on Main.
Launched DF minimized in tray. All normal

Hit Alt+Ctrl+3

Bang: TaskManager miniaturized itself under my astounded eyes.

Hold on ..

I suppose you are wandering out of the path.
I never spoke about having set triggers,
unless there are implicit DF triggers, that I dont know.

Check:

1) on reboot I have a quite big startup list.
One of the program is DF: Plain start, no action required.

2) when W10 start to make windows appearing ...
one or more windows of the 4 program I've pointed out may appear miniaturized (not minimized).
note:
They DONT MINIATURIZE, they appear in that status.

3) When I use Alt+Crtl+3 it can happens that one of the four program I've mentioned, while it was normal, by accident become MINIATURIZED.

NO REASON GIVEN:

Next time I boot I try to make a video.
Hopefully We'll be lucky and see that strange things.

it happens one in 3 or 4.

Can you try with and without DisplayFusion on the reboots to see if it's causing the issues? DisplayFusion shouldn't have any effect on window sizes unless you're using Triggers to resize them.

Well, yes and no.
>MW = Miniaturized Windows<
[M] >Alt+Space = send to next monitor<
[P] >Alt+Ctrl+3 = Send to saved position<

a) After reboot do I find some MW = yes, randomly

b) Using [P] will create some MW = Yes very seldom
- (it can happens, but I cannot be sure it's DF related)

c) When there is one or more MWs, do DF act correctly on them ?
- [M] = mainly yes (and it can also solve miniaturization)
- [P] = no, not really. Usually MW stay where they are

Sorry if I cannot offer better diagnosis

When you power on your PC the applications windows open but they are too small, is that correct? Is that the issue you're trying to use DisplayFusion to fix, or do you think maybe DisplayFusion is causing this issue?

No, sorry

When I reboot sometime W10 make on some windows strange proportions,
you see them like "miniaturized".

Check previous pics.
Sometime one or two or three windows are involved, never four.
I have several programs on automatic startup,
it happens usually on one of these programs:
(Taskmanager, Voicemeeter, MsiAfterburn, Pingplotter, Yourphone)
but NEVER FileExplorer.

After a boot all the windows start on my main screen usually ..
Then I send them to position using Alt+Ctrl+3
- some are sent on a secondary monitor
----- 9 out of 10 these/this "malformed" windows are/is not involved by DF command, but sometime they are.
No idea what is different.

My action are the same: Push power button, wait program windows to appear,
send them to position...
...when everything is in place, I start my other activities.

The only DF issue that I see, could be in not reconizing them correctly.

So
I'm trying to pinpoint what's happens in W10 Boot and in DF actions to help you.

NOTE:
usually clicking on the Wbar and moving the windows around doesnt do nothing while sometime the windows reproportion itself.
but
if you resize it taking a corner it will resist a little
but if you insist suddenly it resize correctly.

15/7 update: this pic from morning boot after Alt+Ctrl+3.
The "errors Windows" is there for dimensions reference.
Tested -
- Both are not involved by my Alt+Ctrl+3
- Both these windows are sensible to DF command:
"send to next monitor" (for me Alt+Tab)
They de-miniaturize after moving in different ways:
Voicemeeeter get back to normal dimentions both content and windows,
while Taskmanager keep same dimentions but with internal normal content.
NOTE:
- After Alt+Tab twice they are again sensible to Alt+Ctrl+3

ok, this morning after booting up , I got again these strange windows.
I opened this page on browser to read instruction.
followed suit, but was unable to note "time"
because I did not understood what "time" to note

So this is the log of my actions:

Booted
Alt+Ctrl+3 (sent to positions)
opened browser
opened DF settings (partial screenshot 1)
done instructions
exported log (partial screenshot 2)

I can confirm that my restore (Alt+Ctrl+3) works now as before,
and as I expect it:
All the windows are moved in a correct position,
and the "multi" gadgets are left where they are.
