I'm having this same issue of the main taskbar not hiding. When I read in this thread about the start menu being invisibly open, and that making DF keep the taskbar visible, I clicked on the start menu, which made it visibly open, and then alway, and the the start menu closed and the task bar auto-hid like it's supposed to. So thanks for that hacky fix, but is there a real fix in the pipeline anywhere?!?

After several months of dealing with computer issues (hard drive failure, more typical Windows 10 idiocy, etc.), I finally put DF (now at 8.1.2) back on my main computer (now a Dell XPS8700 desktop). A couple of weeks ago, I switched the taskbar to Multi-Monitor mode. All has been well with the Start Menu appearing on the active monitor, until today. Now, when I am on the secondary monitor, after I have hit Start and selected something or escaped, the task bar does not hide. I can get it to hide if I right click, select Multi-Monitor Taskbar, and switch between the two Enabled settings, but if I move the cursor up to the top to get the taskbar to show, then move the cursor, it does not hide. Note: I have not tried "Reset All Taskbars" yet, although as I have not done any major customization, trying that would not be a problem.

It appears to be similar to https://www.displayfusion.com/Discussions/View/auto-hide-taskbar-not-working-on-secondary-monitors/?ID=099a878f-c65a-4b38-bbb6-6e6faea2d0cc, but I see that discussion has been quiet for about three months. I hope I can provide input.

I turned on logging and have attached a log that I hope captures the behavior, as well as the current trouble shooting information.

Cheers,
I've been getting this since I moved from Windows 7 to 10 - it's incredibly frustrating since I haven't found even a work-around outside of restarting the computer. I've noticed that when it happens, the DisplayFusion taskbar on my second monitor has some strange behavior: The Start button can't be moused over until you click on it once, then it becomes "alive" again. You also have to click the start button twice for it to toggle the Start Menu (i.e. click the button once to bring it to life, can mouse over or click and the Start Menu pops up; then the button dies again and you have to click it again in order to bring it back to life so you can mouse over or close the menu.)

As others have said, it seems to happen when there's a full-screen application on the primary monitor - I haven't seen it happen with a full-screen window on my secondary monitor. It's inconsistent, though, so I'm not sure if it's a timing issue or some message is being read wrong.

Feel free to let me know if there are any tests I could run to help diagnose the problem. I'll try to get a detailed log next time it happens.

I seem to be having this same issue. Whenever the taskbar on my second or third monitors is unhidden, it will display on top of whatever window is open on the display where the display fusion taskbar is set to auto-hide.

This is most prevalent when I have a browser open or a full screen game as sometimes even the windows taskbar will display on top of the full screen game which breaks immersion. If you need logs from me, please let me know and I will happily attach them to this thread.

@Buzzard: It almost seems like on some machines, the Start menu goes invisible when it closes, but doesn't actually close. That would explain both of the issues you're having. Hopefully when we resolve the auto-hide issue, it will resolve the other issue of the menu not moving back to the Primary monitor. We'll be sure to post an update when we have a new build with some fixes to try.
For some reason I just noticed this bug and the corresponding Start Menu coming up on the wrong monitor yesterday ... and now it is happening consistently. I installed the update this morning and saw the fix referenced and was so relieved ... and I still have the problem.

Right now if I am foolish enough to bring up the start menu (accidentally) on either of my two non-primary monitors the task bar on both non-primary displays stop auto hiding. In addition, I can no longer get the start menu to come up on my primary display. More specifically:

Start menu engaged for first time on primary display (mouse hover on primary display, start key pressed), everything is fine.

Start menu engaged on secondary display (mouse hover on secondary display, start key pressed), start menu appears on secondary display, auto hide no longer works on either secondary or tertiary display. Start menu now ALWAYS opens on secondary display even if mouse hover is on primary display.

Start menu engaged on tertiary display (mouse hover on tertiary display, start key pressed), start menu appears on tertiary display, auto hide still broken. Start menu will now always appear on tertiary display even if mouse hover is on primary display. If I bring up the start menu on the secondary display the behavior switches back to the secondary display but I cannot get the menu back to the primary display or the auto hide to work correctly.

Right clicking on the task bars and re-clicking on the auto hide will hide the taskbar until you accidentally bring the mouse over that region and then it is stuck on again (both have to be done).

Running the OMG annoying Anniversary update to Windows 10.
