(confusing, eh? ) As a result, DisplayFusion can't always treat them the same. When you "break-out" a Photoshop tab into it's own window, it because a top-level window and DF can add TitleBar Buttons. MDI windows are moved relatively inside their parent window, unlike a top-level window which can be moved anywhere on the desktop. But yeah. I checked in photoshop and the titlebar buttons worked on the sub windows. Hope it helps. You could possibly make a request here for more control over the subwindows with hot keys. I don't use any of the title bar controls, just hot keys bound to the extra controls on my mouse. It seems to in photoshop after just trying it. If I open a image in Photoshop that image document has a titlebar button. You can make titlebar buttons do what your asking. Though I dont think it uses a hotkey. My question is about the definition of a "window" with regard to the hotkeys that move windows among monitors. DisplayFusion only seems to "see" an application's outermost window. The containing windows of apps that have multiple document interfaces (in which the application window contains individual subwindows for documents) can be moved between monitors or maximized across monitors, but the individual documents cannot. (Some examples of apps in this category: Photoshop, Illustrator, FrameMaker).

Is there any way to target individual document windows? I like to use some apps maximized across two screens, and I'd like to use DF to throw individual documents between the two monitors. Does this feature exist in the current app and I'm just not seeing it? (I'm on 3.1.7).

If not, a clean way to add the feature without affecting the existing UI might be to check if the window being moved is already spanned across monitors. If so, check to see if a subwindow can be moved instead. Currently, the move commands shrink a spanned window down to one monitor or the other, but this feature doesn't really need to be in DF since you can just double-click the title bar (at least in Windows 7) to de-span the window. ]]>
