I run a nightly backup, using MS SyncToy, and then just schedule the computer to shut down. Just for reference, I have been using Display Fusion and running these operations using Task Scheduler for several years and this only became a problem recently. I originally thought it might have had something to do with updating Display Fusion recently but I reinstalled the older version and it still happens. Thanks.
