Regarding the taskbar button flashing, I can't get it to occur here. Is it another Steam chat button that flashes, or the taskbar button for a different program altogether?

Thank you Keith! You cleared up a lot for me.

• the shortcut is much better this way! I can click it now and my settings opens up. no lag. I wonder if there's a way to add any more to the context (or right click) options? e.g. I put steam on a shortcut too, and when I right click it I get the same options I do if I were to right click its system tray icon. that would be really helpful if DisplayFusion could do this too. either way, it's much better now.

• I might have confused things with taskbar buttons flashing. I've actually hidden the windows taskbar with Taskbar Magic (you helped me to do that herehttp://www.displayfusion.com/Discussions/View/anyway-to-make-the-df-pro-taskbar-override-the-windows-taskbar/?ID=3d0cad5b-2ab0-4b2d-acbc-cd2b45389c38#6). so it's not flashing on the windows taskbar, only the display fusion taskbars. and no, it doesn't do this on the regular windows taskbar without display fusion.

edit: adding some more to this... if I leave DF running and re-show the windows taskbar things get really weird. one DF taskbar works properly where another doesn't LOL

• I never noticed those buttons for splits and padding! THANK you! I was looking inside the splits and padding window for something like that and never saw it. works perfectly

• still having issues with stuff being hidden behind my bezels. e.g. firefox runs 1920x1080 on my center monitor, when open the downloads window or the window that appears when a new bookmark is created (there's a few others) they are forced into the bezel areas. If I have Firefox open on the left or right monitors the windows are forced into view. this is my real nitpicky one here lol

• you fixed my wallpaper issue with the splits and padding option I wasn't seeing

Ok, here we go!

For the DisplayFusion taskbar shortcut to the Settings, I would recommend setting it up like the attached screenshot.

That's interesting that the wrong taskbar button flashes. Since you mentioned that issue also occurs on the Windows taskbar, if you exit DisplayFusion, does that still happen?

In the Monitor Configuration window, just disable the "Taskbar" checkbox in the "Use these features with splits" section.

If you configure the splits with just the "Left" and "Width" values, and leave padding at 0, you can avoid stuff being hidden in the padded zones. The context menus will still be partly on each screen, but at least you'll be able to see all of them. We still have an open ticket on our list for that issue as well, so hopefully we can fix it up in the future

When the wallpaper turns black on the monitor that's split, can you check the Wallpaper settings to see if the image is still configured correctly there?

Thanks!

just some things not functioning as I expected or hoped.

sorry in advance if this gets nitpicky

• ok, well first... I made a shortcut on my DF taskbar (using DFs shortcut system) and for most of my programs it works awesomely! I can right click the shortcut and get the same options I would as if I had accessed the system tray icon (I hate the system tray and hide it, like to use DF shortcuts for all my USEFUL system tray programs). Anyhow, DF itself doesn't work right, I can hit settings but the window never appears. Also it takes a long time for the menu to come up. Its the only program I have that makes me open up the old system tray.

• next, I'll explain what I have first. 5 monitors with 3 displays. 2 displays are normal HD 1920x1080 and my main (3rd) display is an eyefinity group of 3 1920x1080 monitors @ 6048x1080. I have a DF Taskbar on each display. one very wide one on the eyefinity display. anyhow... if I have Steam running (I almost always have Steam running) and someone messages me the wrong tasbar button highlights. I expected the new message to be highlighted, but it never is, always another one, which one is random, but it turns yellow (highlighted) and the actually Steam button flashes from grayed out to normal (and never yellow) each taskbar behaves exactly the same.

• Splits and Padding in Monitor Configuration. I LOVE this, but I seem to have some issues with it... I tried splitting my eyefinity display into three parts, one for each monitor, that works, but it also splits my taskbar into 3 where I want to keep it as just one...

• ...one of the main reasons I have to keep it as one taskbar is sorta hard to explain, if a window or menu opens close to an edge of a *display* the window or menu is forced into view, but if one opens near an edge of a DF split it is not forced into view, it opens in the padding zone i.e. the physical monitor bezel and cannot be read.

• ...and another thing with Splits and Padding... I have one LED TV that burns in so I have it on a wallpaper cycle. When the wallpaper on that monitor changes and Splits and Padding is active the wallpaper on my eyefinity display turns off / goes black.

so this was a lot sorry about that LOL you guys rock tho! as always your help and work is muchappreciated!
