My two monitors are of different resolution with my default Dell higher then the Hanns-G. I had begun to work out, from research, that was the case.

I have set the monitors to extend in Windows.

My Dell is connected to the main connector on the Radeon and the Hanns-G to the only HDMI it has.

When I started this morning the Hann-G responded up to the point of the Windows logo and then shut down.

Very frustrating

There isn't a way to swap the monitor ID numbers without swapping the actual cables themselves. Windows sets the IDs based on the connector type and a few other things.

Unfortunately it's not always possible to force cloning at the higher resolution monitor's resolution. In most cases, it's only possible to clone them at the highest common resolution that the two monitors have. So if one supports 1920x1080 and the other only supports 1680x1050, then when cloned, they will both be set to 1680x1050.

As for having different windows on each monitors, you should be able to do that if you have them set to extended instead of duplicated.

Hope that helps!

Hi there, just started to mess about with dual monitors under W10 and stuck on a few things. My primary Monitor is a 24 inch Dell UltraSharp 24 inch U2412M and my 2nd monitor a 19 inch Hans-G running off a Radeon RX 570 8GB. Both W10 and so far Display Fusion shows the Dell as Monitor 2 and when I duplicate screens the resolution on my Dell is set to the Hans-G resolution.

I really want the Dell identified as Monitor 1 so when both monitors are in play I have full use of the Dell resolution.

Also, I am confused as to how to show individual windows from my Dell to the Hanns-G. At the moment it is all or nothing. My main purpose with dual monitor is to be able to have a a moving map shown on the 2nd monitor (Hanns-G) whilst running my flight sim on the Dell.

On the plus side I have managed to get the mouse to switch across the monitors!

Sorry if this is bread and butter stuff but it's a new world to me.
