Yes, you need to install the .net framework before the update will install properly. I'm sorry to hear that you haven't been able to try DisplayFusion! The first thing I would check is whether you have the .NET Framework 2.0 installed. If your computer is new or freshly installed there's a chance that you may not. If you are unsure if you have it or not it doesn't hurt to re-install it. You can find it here:

I am running WinXP SP2 on an Acer laptop with a 17" external LCD as primary monitor and the laptop's 15.4 LCD as secondary.

I just downloaded and installed DisplayFusion. At the end of the installation, it has a check box to start DisplayFusion, which I left checked.

When I click Finish, it acts like it's loading, but then I get this:

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, and I'm still getting the same thing.
