Just had this issue & found this thread; so I put text in the profile like: for Firefox, "*Firefox" and for Excel, "*Excel" instead of the actual filenames I saved on the profile recently.

SUGGESTION: a pop-up reminder during a profile save, that can be turned off if someone is well aware of this behaviour. As a newbie, it would have saved me a bit of frustration.

Thanks! Disabling the Window Text condition for the entries that have filenames/page titles in their Window Text should fix this up. The issue is that if you're on a different file or page, then the text no longer matches so the entry is skipped when the profile is loaded. Please see the attached screenshot for reference.

You can also leave the condition enabled, and just remove the filename/page title part of the Window Text.

Hope that helps!

Hey all.

Been happily using DisplayFusion for a number of years now. However, I'm having a frustrating issue on my work laptop and saved windows positions that I'm hoping someone can assist with.

My laptop has one screen when not docked (kinda' obvious I guess) and 3 screens when on its dock: The internal display and two 24" external displays. I do have that configuration saved as a monitor profile and I created a windows position profile to go with it, which is assigned to it (see attached images.)

The problem is, the profile just doesn't apply when I put the laptop back on the dock. It doesn't matter how long I wait, nothing happens. I've recreated the profile multiple times and also tried assigning a hotkey to the window profile that seems inconsistent at best so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Given that this is one of DisplayFusion's core feature, I'm going to guess it's something on my end and not a bug but I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

If anyone's able to assist, I would greatly appreciate it as this laptop is used in a managed IT job with a LOT of open windows and it regularly gets removed from the dock for meetings. Thanks!
