There are two issues here (both are on our list to fix). One is the issue of the monitor IDs getting messed up when switching between cloned and extended setups. The other is an issue where the Monitor Profile gets overwritten with bad data when loaded. The second issue should be fixed up for the next beta, but the first one is trickier to sort out.

We'll let you know when the next beta is available, and then again when we get the other issue sorted out
I found that editing the monitor ID in the Registry would get my profile to work. However, loading any more profiles after that breaks it.

I've had to export a registry key with my monitor IDs and then import that into the registry each time before loading my profile to get it working.

Obviously not ideal, and don't know why monitor IDs change in the registry when I load a profile. Would be happy to provide any info to the developers to get this solved.

Some info from my 5500 machine when the displays have the wrong number. The numbers only reverse (2 and 3 swap) when I try to clone 1|2 or 1|3. If I extend everything, it works. Sometimes I can only extend the monitor from windows settings as DisplayFusion keeps returning to a 2 cloned, one extended for some reason.
To add further confusion to this issue.

The laptop running an Intel Iris 640 solution connected to a DisplayLink USB port replicator (HDMI and VGA connected) has many issues. I have been able to save a monitor profile in 2 different rooms with the same layout. I didn't think that was supposed to happen.

I often get an error with being unable to call SetDisplayConfig. Initially I was able to call a specific room configuration, but once I get that error (#87), I am unable to call that profile. Sometimes I can call the other profile (with the exact same monitor layout and exact hardware), and it will work, but the original will display error 87.

With a dual monitor layout, I cannot get DisplayFusion to set a duplicated profile. I can set it in Windows, and DisplayFusion will then show that it is enabled and cloned with monitor 1. I can apply that profile successfully but only when it's already set by Windows. If I switch to extended, I get an error 87 when trying to apply the duplicated profile. I think this is related to DisplayFusion being unable to clone 2 monitors with this Intel Iris 640 setup. Bug? Driver? Can DisplayFusion read monitors differently?

I have another laptop running the Intel HD 5500 graphics solution, and while that reads the monitor numbers differently (Windows sees 1|3 and DisplayFusion sees 1|2 or vice versa), the profiles work most of the time. But a generic extended monitor on the left vs right profile sometimes gets reversed (again the Windows numbering is not agreeing with DisplayFusion in this case and the numbers do change). But a room specific profile works. However, sometimes DisplayFusion reads the numbers correct and my profiles stop working .

If there's any diagnostic information that I can provide, please let me know. I am eager to get this solved.

Hello everyone.

I've got an environment where we are running 2 projectors in various rooms. The ideal situation is for the laptop (connected via DisplayLink USB 3.0 dock) to duplicate to one screen, and extend to the other. Room layouts are different so sometimes you need a reverse configuration.

I've created the following 4 profiles:

1+2 | 3 (A)
3 | 1+2 (B)
1+3 | 2 (C)
2 | 1+3 (D)

These 4 profiles should cover every type of configuration (and even if Windows reverses projector order).

I'm having a few problems with this:

1. Sometimes DisplayFusion and Windows Display settings show different screen numbers. I've attached a file below. This doesn't always happen. I am able to get those 4 profiles working in a room, but for an unknown reason, sometimes the display numbers will change and 2 of my profiles are duplicates of the other. Sometimes 3 profiles will work, and 1 will be a duplicate of another (due to DisplayFusion reading the monitor number different).

2. Some of our monitors have different optimal resolutions. Some are 1920x1080, and some are 1280x800. I've forced them all to 1280x800 in hopes that DisplayFusion can recognize these as the same monitor sets across different rooms. This is not the case. It seems if Room 1 and Room 2 have different models of monitors, the profiles do not work. I am unsure if DisplayFusion can rectify this.

3. As a last ditch effort, I figured I could try creating a profile for every single room. This would ensure I could go in, select room number profile, and end up with an optimal display. However, this means many of the rooms will have the same configuration eg. 1+3 | 2. DisplayFusion will not allow me to save a profile with the same configuration, even if the monitor models are different. Is there a way around this?

This leads me to believe that DisplayFusion can work independent of hardware models, so long as I pick a resolution that each one can support (and I have done so). However, the numbering of monitors changing is really making this not work.

Any help is greatly appreciated. I am running the latest DisplayLink drivers, along with the latest Intel Iris drivers.

One oddity I noted is that I cannot always choose 'Enabled and Cloned with Monitor #1'. Now sometimes I can choose that for monitor 2, and not 3. Sometimes I can't choose it for any of the external monitors. I really have no idea what is happening there. On another model computer with an Intel HD 5500 graphics solution, I can always enable those options. I've tried a multitude of drivers including USB 3.0 drivers as well.

Thank you!

Edit: I should clarify that Windows always has the right numbering of the screens. For example if Windows reads 1+3 | 2, that is correct. DisplayFusion will read 1+2 | 3. Rebooting does not seem to make a different. I'm not sure why sometimes it works and then doesn't work in the same room without any hardware changes.
