As an aside, I have tried the same thing using VLC Media Player and it works as expected, so for now I am just using that instead of Windows Media Player. I would appreciate a fix for this, but it is not as high a priority as it initially was (microsofts loss).
Thanks Keith.

I tried your suggestion of setting "Show taskbar in front of full screen applications when they lose focus", but that had no effect.

I have also tried shutting off the taskbar on the third monitor, but that has had no effect either.

In case this helps, I have found that when I place media player in full screen mode, I can click on other windows in other monitors without losing full screen so long as they are windowed. If I click on an application that is maximized, that is when media player jumps out of full screen mode.

Thanks,

Sorry if this is repeated elsewhere, but I have got close to what I need by using the forums but need just a little bit more help.

I have just installed a 3rd monitor (exclusively for watching videos) and was having the problems with it becoming windowed when I would maximize/minimize things on my other two monitors.

In the window location tab, I have created an entry for windows media player and set it to use the 3rd monitor and also set window size to maximize. This works pretty well but there is a bar that remains across the top that will not go away. I also don't really think it is maximized because if I double-click the video player it will go to true full screen and the bar across the top goes away. Although when I click on another application that is maximized in another window, the bar returns.

I have also tried changing the entry from maximized to run selected function and selected "prevent windows deactivation", but that doesn't seem to work as expected.

All I really want is to run videos full screen on my third monitor without anything I do in the other monitors effecting the full screen mode.

Thanks!
Kent
