Hi Jon, since the taskbar on Vista/7 (I don't recall for XP) always seems to emulate the window title bar effect, it might actually be possible to do this - I just noticed while starting Trillian Astra today that the signin screen background is actually skinned by WindowBlinds with the same appearance as the Aero title bar. Perhaps you could ask Cerulean how they did it?

DF is very cool product and it integrates with OS on very high level too. It works fine with WindowBlinds. Only issue is left and right edges of DF taskbars. Because WB often change main (system) taskbar to that is have rounded edges DF not fully repeat it on itselfs taskbars.

Need a screenshot?
