But, I don't believe that we're doing it in a way that should be causing Windows to freeze like that. I've got random wallpapers setup here and I'm not running into that issue

Could you try one more setting? In the DisplayFusion Desktop Wallpaper window, click the Wallpaper Settings button, and disable the "Use transitions when changing..." option. Does that make any difference?

If not, could you attach a copy of your troubleshooting info?

• Click the "Export Info to File" button

The freezing is down to less than a second, but still noticable.
Could the logic be changed to run as a background thread instead? Or is that not possible when changing desktop wallpaper? • "Use Internal Wallpaper Processing"
• "Run as a Low Priority Process"
• "Generate Smaller Files (lower quality)"

Make sure to restart DisplayFusion after enabling those.

Secondary monitor gets wallapper from Bing, third collects from EarthPorn on reddit.

But whenever DisplayFusion updates the wallpaper the hole UI thread freezes for a couple of seconds. Really annoying when playing games, or simply writting text or code and nothings happens until thread is released. Had the update timer for wallpaper set to every 15 minutes, but when playing games it becomes a pain. Timer is now set to every two hours.

This still happens in DF Pro 9.5. I am running Windows 10, just updated to 1903 release, but it's been going for a while. Can't say how long back but at least 6 months or maybe more.

Any suggestions to a solution? ]]>
