Hi Jon,

Didn't get a chance to test beta 10, but did get Beta 11 installed, working much MUCH better than before! Looks like its enum the directories only and I have images rotating every 15 seconds as originally planned. The CPU spike is now shortened to around 1 second on avg as it enums the directories only (verified via procmon).

Thanks for checking into this and coding a solution.

Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it) DisplayFusion doesn't index your images in the background. This means that DF has to look through your images every time you want to change images. With 60k images this is not a trivial thing. I will be improving this for the next major release, version 3.2, but for now all I can ask you to do is wait.

Version: 3.1.7.108 ~ BETA 8
Also Affected in: 3.1.7 GA

OS: Win7 x64

I have two monitors and simply set each monitor to use a different image. Image mode is set to "Randomly change using Images from my computer" for both screens.

I use a single folder that contains a high number of subfolders (around 1400) and images (around 60K), both monitors use the same folder. I have the images set to change every 15 seconds.

Procmon (SysInternals Utility) shows that DisplayFusion.exe is enumerating all the files in the folders and subfolders all the way through, but it seems to be touching each and every file instead of just the directories to get a list of files. Once it finishes all the files, the program changes the background as expected but the cycle begins again. Even if I changed the image rotation time to be 30 mins apart, its still a spike for each change process.
