Perhaps the information in this response post may assist the DF staff in resolving the taskbar icon issue with apps like (but not limited to) Chrome.<br/>
I went and installed a trial version of Actual Multiple Monitors, as I used to use their free version years ago. Their latest version still handles the icons in the taskbar properly as opposed to DF. One interesting thing I noticed is that if I made some particular taskbar-related configuration change to AMM settings and applied it, the icons for Chrome on the taskbar of the "secondary" monitor would revert to the default Chrome icon "until" I activated the chrome session (alt-tab or clicked icon in taskbar). Like DF, there was never an issue with the icons on the "primary" monitor. But perhaps upon window activation (or focus rather), AMM is performing some checking that is forcing the taskbar icon to display as expected on the secondary monitor.

I also have a single Chrome session pinned, and use that to launch another instance as an administrator account, with a different username (and obviously a different Chrome profile on that other user). Obviously my situation is a little more complex, so I understand if it's not as easy to resolve!

So interestingly, my work computer did not have this issue... but I had another Chrome issue, had to uninstall and re-install Chrome... now afterwards, my work computer does have the same issue... the secondary monitor no longer carries the user-specific profile icon in the taskbar... it's just a generic chrome icon.. the primary monitor is fine as it is with my home system.

I performed your test, and the only difference is that the secondary monitor now displays all icons in the taskbar with the default Chrome icon only, whereas the primary monitor will display the avatar associated with the profile on top of the chrome icon in the taskbar. (That is, the primary monitor performs as expected, but the secondary does not).

I'm not sure how the inspector is supposed to work, it seems to take quite a long time before details change, and what kind of hovering will trigger a change...anyway...for the chrome sessions that have issues, the windows icons and process files icons are all just generic Chrome... the only icon that is different is AppID [PinnedIcon], which shows the soccer ball regardless of which monitor the window is active on [for the profile example that doesn't display properly on 2nd monitor]. And, that icon is not the one displayed on the primary monitor.. the appropriate icon should be the Ninja, which is displayed on the primary monitor properly... it should never be the soccer ball for this session, although I do have another profile (not default) that uses the soccer ball. It's odd because actually, the AppID under Inspector suggests I'm using the LNK file from the profile with the soccer ball. Perhaps I should delete the desktop LNK file that it references to see what happens... However, I normally launch the non-default profiles from within the default Chrome session by clicking in the upper-right profile name, and selecting the alternate profile. And the default profile Chrome sessions does not even refer to any LNK under AppID, it simply refers to the default profile directory... it's quite odd since I don't launch Chrome using the LNK file in question. But even for the sessions where "Inspector" believes the AppID is the soccer LNK, the primary monitor displays the proper Ninja icon.
