Hi everybody,

I was glad to find this page. I am currently running DF 9.5 Pro on a Windows 10 Enterprise (1803).

My DisplayFusion was regularly hovering between 15 & 20% without any interaction just dealing with the laptop monitor + 2 external ones.

After reading this thread I disabled the "Move button" overlay and applied the settings (no restart of DF) and the CPU usage dropped to around 5%.

It spiked at 12% while re-checking during this message but dropped again in the 5 - 7% quickly.

I will keep an eye on it in the coming days and will try to remember to post an update in a week or so

I typically will have to end task for DisplayFusion and then my CPU usage will drop back down to the 30 - 40% range. I read in the thread above that you recommended that updating to the beta version of DF 9.3 might be a possible solution.

Please advise if you have had good results with DF 9.3 users updating to the beta release on resolving this issue (at least temporarily).
Thank you.
Thanks,
I have some hopefully very good news! I was finally able to reproduce the runaway CPU consistently here, and we're 99.99999% sure that we've gotten it fixed up. We released 9.3 this morning, but then found and fixed the CPU bug, so we've reposted it as DisplayFusionSetup-9.3c.exe. If you've already updated to 9.3, could you re-download it from our website and install it? Double-check that the setup file downloads as DisplayFusionSetup-9.3c.exe.

Thanks!

Hi Keith,

For me with DF 9.1, it is not at startup, but more rarely 99% utilization under heavy usage. But in my situation, Windows 7 Pro (2 large monitors), with many processes and windows open. It is not easily re-created, but when it does happen, killing all resident DF processes, restarting the DF resolves the issue. I am often using evernote, chrome (incognito many tabs/windows), office 2013 (Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook) and often shooting windows to other monitor. When it does occur, I cannot get active windows to be responsive. I always Start with Windows and leave on Check for Updates Automatically.

Is there anything I should be trying to do in Task Manager at the time it occurs to help isolate? I usually am sorting by CPU Time (descending), and most other processes are below 1% when I am in the midst of the issue.
