It looks like in a recent Windows 10 update, which might include Windows 11, those RDP windows are doing some funky stuff when switched from full screen to windowed. Just to be clear, the temporary desktop shrinkage is like someone is doing a pinch-to-zoom gesture on the entire desktop then releasing it after a second or two. My video card is an RTX 3060 Ti, and I have three displays attached, two monitors and a Sony A80J TV. Unlike prior TVs, this Sony does this weird thing when powered on/off, in which it briefly disappears from Windows. Windows even has a separate settings collection for the "off" state. Prior TVs have all been present continuously, like monitors. Anyway, during this 1-2 second transition, the entire desktop on my main monitor briefly shrinks and expands, and it's this event that messes up the (usually minimized) Remote Desktop window. Turns out that if there is an open window in the Remote Desktop session, say, a Notepad++ window, it also receives the Win+Up sent by DisplayFusion, so both the Notepad++ window and Remote Desktop container window are maximized (with Remote Desktop going fullscreen as desired). However, at least once a day, I find that when I switch to it, it has spontaneously gone to the restored state, which is a regular floating window. I made a DF trigger that maximizes the window when it gets the focus, but it just maximizes it above the host system taskbar. This is different than clicking the window's maximize button, or hovering over its taskbar icon, right-clicking the thumbnail view, and choosing "Maximize". Both those actions make it go fullscreen. Is there any way to do what I want with DF? ]]>
