Yep, "Auto" should be the default with the drop down disabled. The "Auto" button could be replaced with a "Custom" button that enabled the drop down list.

Hmm... I picked the black "Zune" color and it does say "XP" by it. Okay, I guess that may be a reason for it looking strange.

However, if the buttons are not compatible (aesthetically, anyway) between MS transmogrified OS looks, I suggest checking the OS and showing only those appropriate for the OS. User supplied buttons images, of course, you wouldn't filter. Thanks MS for forcing us poor programmers to have to do such things! That said, this is a typical way to handle such situations.
The ball is in your court.

However, and this is recollection as I can't look at the system metrics returns right now, I think that the actual border size can change. That said, I am not sure the highlight itself changes.... Caption button size definitely changes, but you probably don't want to bother with handling that. Were I writing the program, I'd definitely check those values to make sure Windows won't hoodwink me again.

Sorry to be ultraposting today...

The good news is the apply button seems to be working well, and so does the DF taskbar showing the foreground window icon as depressed.

However, and I am not sure if this is new to v109 or not, but I noticed that the titlebar buttons overlap the very top edge of the caption. On Vista Aero, there is a specular highlight here. Your buttons, the ones that say they are Vista in any case, don't have that. Attached is an image showing this. You might want to revisit Photoshop here.

You can see what I mean looking at the maximized window and the dialog in the image. (Please note that if you have the DF taskbar on and not hidden, and you have a Window is maximized, there is a white line there, but that is the bottom edge of the taskbar.)

This is an aesthetic issue, true, but I thought I would point it out.
