To add another candidate to your sample, I'm also noticing this behavior and I think it's new as of 8.1.2. I believe my issue is predictable but I'm still testing. I use a Lenovo Thinkpad with one of their Pro snap in docks. I have 2 monitor profiles (single/dual) with 2 correlated wallpaper profiles (single/dual). When I snap the laptop out of the dock and then open the laptop, DF quickly realizes the monitor change and displays my single monitor profile. However, in the reverse, it seems to have trouble. When I drop the laptop back in the dock and wake it up from it's sleep, the wallpaper transitions from single wallpaper to black. When I go into the "Desktop Wallpaper" settings of DF, everything looks proper with the exception of the load image box empty instead of having the path to the image. Once I set it again, I'm fine until I repeat from a single to dual profile via the docking activity. I've attached a screen grab of what it looks like with the black wallpaper (blank) before I reset it again. Thanks!

Okay i think i have got the problem figured out now but i don't know how to fix it<br/>
<br/>
When loaded into Main/TV monitor profile and any of the active/disabled displays get <b>Disconnected</b> it unloads the monitor profile which in turn removes the link to the wallpaper profile, if you then reconnect the disconnected display and the Main/TV profile loads again the wallpaper becomes completely black...<br/>
<br/>
i tried to reproduce it as best as i could but when i was disconnecting and reconnecting monitors continuously my computer crashed and im wondering if it had something to do with displayfusion or windows/nvidia dislikes rapid disconnect/reconnect.<br/>
now im a bit hesitant to keep testing this if it's going to crash my computer.<br/>
I attached the 2 Kernel crashreports i got and i was wondering if that could tell you anything?

I haven't been able to reproduce this to a set of actions and it just seems to happen randomly.<br/>
<br/>
First i set my wallpaper settings to this <br/>
<div class="Image"><a href="https://puu.sh/tz1y1/0d82420b6a.png" target="_blank" data-fancybox="" data-caption="https://puu.sh/tz1y1/0d82420b6a.png" HelpButtonData="https://puu.sh/tz1y1/0d82420b6a.png" HelpButtonDataAlign="BelowMiddle"><img src="https://puu.sh/tz1y1/0d82420b6a.png" alt="https://puu.sh/tz1y1/0d82420b6a.png" title=""></a></div><br/>
<br/>
Then after some time passes (switching monitor profiles, restarting computer, sleeping the displays) the background image disappears and the settings look like this<br/>
<div class="Image"><a href="https://puu.sh/tyf8p/7d0d85cd0a.png" target="_blank" data-fancybox="" data-caption="https://puu.sh/tyf8p/7d0d85cd0a.png" HelpButtonData="https://puu.sh/tyf8p/7d0d85cd0a.png" HelpButtonDataAlign="BelowMiddle"><img src="https://puu.sh/tyf8p/7d0d85cd0a.png" alt="https://puu.sh/tyf8p/7d0d85cd0a.png" title=""></a></div><br/>
<br/>
I have not changed anything in the displayfusion settings in between these 2 pictures and i'm not sure where the problem lies<br/>
<br/>
edit: now displayfusion shows that the wallpaper is active even though it's not.<br/>
<div class="Image"><a href="http://puu.sh/tzy6N/103eebdbab.png" target="_blank" data-fancybox="" data-caption="http://puu.sh/tzy6N/103eebdbab.png" HelpButtonData="http://puu.sh/tzy6N/103eebdbab.png" HelpButtonDataAlign="BelowMiddle"><img src="http://puu.sh/tzy6N/103eebdbab.png" alt="http://puu.sh/tzy6N/103eebdbab.png" title=""></a></div><br/>
<br/>
Default windows theme:<br/>
<div class="Image"><a href="http://puu.sh/tzyii/97ddb23a58.png" target="_blank" data-fancybox="" data-caption="http://puu.sh/tzyii/97ddb23a58.png" HelpButtonData="http://puu.sh/tzyii/97ddb23a58.png" HelpButtonDataAlign="BelowMiddle"><img src="http://puu.sh/tzyii/97ddb23a58.png" alt="http://puu.sh/tzyii/97ddb23a58.png" title=""></a></div>
