Hi,

I'm using DisplayFusion 8.1.2 (licensed) on a 64 bit Win 7 SP1 PC.

Intermittently the wallpaper tag info (camera model) is not displayed on the primary (#2) monitor.

This will occur for random images.

Usually when the image changes, by the slideshow option, the info will appear for the new image.

The attached document shows screenshots of:
- The area where the tag info should be shown for both monitors
- Wallpaper configuration
- Explorer showing data is present
- Monitor configuration
- Both monitors showing the same image - tag info missing on the right hand screen

Thanks and regards,
John Bills

Hi John, does this issue happen with specific images, or just randomly regardless of the image being shown?

Hi Jon,

It happens for multiple images.

When I tested this I used a different profile (see attachment), with this profile the info tag was not shown for all the images tested.

Hope this helps.

That's very strange! Can you attach some of the images that you're having this image with so we can test it out here? Thanks!

Hi,

I've attached 3 sample images.

I used a tool called EXIFTOOL to add the tag info (camera model).

Hope this helps.

Thanks! I think what might be happening is that the info is sometimes being created underneath the taskbar on the second monitor. The next time you notice it, if you disable the DisplayFusion Multi-Monitor Taskbar on the second monitor, is the info there?

Hi,

Two things:
- the second monitor is the primary monitor and doesn't have a display fusion taskbar,
it uses the standard windows taskbar

- when the taskbar is disabled on the second monitor the tag info is not there

See the attachment for screenshots.

Ok, thanks! If you just add some static text to the Image Info, does it always show, or is it missing as well? Just wondering if there's an issue reading the EXIF tag for some reason, or if it's an issue with generating the Image Info altogether.

Hi,

I added static text, this resulted in the static text being displayed but the tag info was completely missing.

I don't believe there's a problem reading the tag as in the other with the exact same file the tag is read and displayed correctly.

Interestingly in monitor configuration the tag info is missing as well.

See the attachment for screenshots.

To me, it looks like an issue generating the the text to be displayed.

Thanks,
John

Yeah, that's very strange! I can't seem to reproduce it here. Could you send me a debug log? Here are the steps:
  • On the DisplayFusion Settings > Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal" and click Apply
  • Reproduce the issue and note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
  • Send us the DisplayFusion.log and DebugInfo.html files (can be found by clicking the Open Log button on the Troubleshooting tab)
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

Thanks!

At 08:27:15 I started the logging with wallpaper profile "left-right"

At 08:28:00 I activated profile "test" that always exhibits the issue

I've attached the two files as requested

Thanks! I don't see anything suspicious in the logs. Could you attach a couple of the images so that I can try them out here?

Thanks! I finally found the missing clue in your screenshots. When testing, I was selecting the same image manually for each monitor. Today I noticed that you have it set to "Same Image on Each Monitor." After setting mine to that, I can reproduce this issue :)

I've added it to our list and we'll be sure to let you know when it's all fixed up.

Thanks!
