Subject. Why is this happening? Also I am sure that DisplayFusion is causing this since when I start Windows without it, those blank windows don't appear.

Some more info if needed:
The blank windows show up as soon as I start Windows. I have 2 monitors, a main and a side one. I am placing 2 open programs (Line and Discord) in my side monitor.

Could you send us a debug log? Here are the steps:

  • On the DisplayFusion Settings > Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal" and click Apply
  • Reproduce the issue and note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
  • Click the "Export Info to File" button on the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Reply with the file attached
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

Thanks!

Here you go. Thing is I can't really reproduce the issue, those 2 blank windows are just there since Windows starts and I can't do anything with them.

That's only the troubleshooting info, could you send the debug log as well? Using the "Export Info to File" button should export a ZIP that contains the troubleshooting info and the debug log.

Thanks!

I'm running DisplayFusion Pro 8.1.2 and have the exact same problem. I think it actually started when Windows 10 1803 (earlier this year) came out, but I never got around to tracking down the cause until now.

My problem is identical to the first poster in this thread.

It's definitively DisplayFusion causing the problem. If it exit out of DisplayFusion completely, the problem goes away. As soon as I launch DisplayFusion, those two blank windows show up in task switcher.

I've attached my log file to this message (since it doesn't seem that the original user has come back yet).

Let me know if you need any more debug info.

Thanks!

Thanks! Could you capture another debug log, but this time try to switch to one of the blank windows?

See attached for the new log. I attempted to alt+tab over to the blank windows twice. Then, I opened up alt+tab and attempted to select one with my mouse pointer.

Thanks! It looks like our Alt+Tab Handler is picking up some weird hidden Explorer window. I will check in with our devs to see if we can blacklist it from Alt+Tab.

Hi, sorry I have been away for some time and not replying. I see another poster has sent the relevant information needed. Thanks for that, I hope this issue can be resolved quickly since it's a bit annoying at times.

Just a quick update here. These seem to be some hidden Windows UI windows that DF is picking up for some reason. We think we've found a way to exclude them and we'll post an update when we have a new beta with the issue fixed up.

Thanks!

This should hopefully be all fixed up in DisplayFusion 9.4 Beta 4. Could you guys give it a try and let me know how it works out?
