Every single one of my restarts over the past month have been to update DisplayFusion, which happens is pretty often. This really shouldn't happen.

Sorry to hear that! You definitely shouldn't have to restart after every DisplayFusion update. Do you get an actual prompt asking you to restart?

Yes. It doesn't happen every update, but most updates. Sorry if I sounded aggressive with that post, I was 16 hours into an all nighter and the caffeine was getting to me.

No worries! The next time you get prompted, could you post a screenshot of the message? I never get prompted to restart when updating, so I'm curious to see what the message looks like and perhaps that will help us track it down. If you could also attach the %APPDATA%\DisplayFusion\DisplayFusionSetup.log after that happens as well, that would be fantastic.
