Biggest news ever for this isue. I can replicate this issue 100% of time time at will, maybe u can try it see if the same and create fix? Simply by running it as admin fromt he compatibility tab checkbox causes the issue to hapen every time. I can close the program, runit again, and the hotkeys fail again. Are the hotkeys tryihg to hook the system while the UAC prompt is still up, and denied before I can hit OK so it stays disabled? If so putting about 1 5 second delay on the hotkey hooks would give users time to hit OK to uac prompt. I am just throwing it out there, not a modern programmer by any means.

I installed v12.1.2 (beta 1) today. I will report back in a few days about whether the DisplayFusion crashes stop. I re-enabled WindHawk a few days ago since disabling it did not stop the DisplayFurion crashes. After doing so, DisplayFusion crashed more often - at least once per day. Perhaps Windhawk was causing at least some of the crashes. I have diabled Windhawk again after updating DisplayFusion to v12.1.2 (beta 1). If there are no crahses for a few days, I will re-enable Windhawk again and see what happens.

Quote:
Let me see if I can help you with your items. For #1 that is unfortunately up to the game if it's running fullscreen. Games often have hardware-backed rendering on a specific monitor and can't be moved. For #2 you have the right idea, the "current monitor" is the one where the mouse cursor is. For #3 I would recommend instead of using a trigger on the Settings > Window Management tab enable the "Centre non-overlapping child windows..." option and that should do what you're looking for.

So, I have this trigger
Event: Window Created
Frequency: Always
Process Filename: *.*
Action: Move Window to Mouse Cursor Window"

Works great if I launch a program, mostly. This function overrides "Taskbar Shortcuts" that have "Force Monitor" checked.

What happens is I launch a program from one taskbar and before it launches I move my mouse to another monitor. The program then launches on whatever monitor my mouse is currently on.

Is there a way to have the Taskbar Shortcuts override the function, or better yet have the system track which monitor I was on when I launched and open there, even if the mouse has moved?

Thanks

Quote:
I wonder if DisplayFusion is detecting a Monitor Profile and loading the Wallpaper Profile that's assigned to it. If you go the Monitor Configuration window, click the "Manage Monitor Profiles" button, and remove the Wallpaper Profiles that are assigned to the Monitor Profiles, are you then able to manually load a wallpaper profile? You'll need to click OK on both the "Manage Monitor Profiles" dialog, as well as the main Monitor Configuration window after removing the Wallpaper Profiles.

Yep, that definitely made a difference! It's loading the selected profile properly afterwards without reverting to the previous one.

The other issue with not loading the selected wallpaper profile from the right-click context menu (maybe due to the size of file of the wallpaper) is still present, but at least now the profile isn't reverting the way it was before.

Hi Scott,

My setup sounds somewhat similar to yours so I'll add what it looks like.

I have a three monitors: Left, Middle and Right (Laptop)

Occasionally I use the left monitor for another machine and so I have two profiles with a hotkeys to swap. (See attached image.)

I find the hotkey swap works really well and I like that you can spoecify other 'sub-profiles' with it.

In terms of the monitor IDs changing I get this quite regularly and as the way in which windows + dell dock that I use allocates them. The result is the Left and Middle wallpapers are swapped round. Owen in this thread, https://www.displayfusion.com/Discussions/View/monitors-are-swapped-occasionally/?ID=0af643cc-2187-4f0a-a2f9-418a0c00fdc0 suggests creating additional profiles, but please feel free to add your support for coordinated based monitor identification

Hope that helps,

John

With Windows 11's lack in settings for the taskbar, DisplayFusion really needs to step up, and allows us to sort out the taskbar on a multi monitor setup.

1) Systray is a mess now. Secondary monitors' systray ends up having a single line of icons. Just let us set number of rows manually, or at least let it conform to the actual height of the taksbar.
2) The clock/date section ends up showing an additional line, and now includes the name of the day. Personally I want this gone, to reduce clutter, and conform to the primary monitor.
3) Let us get rid of the network/sound/etc icons. Only show the systray icons from the running programs.
4) Taskbar buttons height also needs to be customizable, allowing us to have two (or more) rows on the taskbar when the taskbar heigth actually allows for it. There's too much dead space.

I can't be the only one getting super annoyed that these things are never addressed. Come on guys. Please Have a look at how the feature worked on a Windows 10 system.. .and simply copy it.

I’m experiencing a very similar issue with DisplayFusion triggers.
After DisplayFusion has been idle for a while, the first trigger activation is delayed by several seconds. Once it finally executes, subsequent activations work immediately. After another period of inactivity, the delay returns again.
This used to work perfectly without any noticeable delay in older versions of DisplayFusion.
