While the Ease of Access Unnecessary Animations trick works, you can also fix the problem by going to System > Advanced system settings > Advanced > Performance and changing the settings under Custom. It appears that as long as "Animate controls and elements inside windows" is checked, the wallpaper transitions work. The other animation options can be changed as desired. I'm not entirely sure, but this fix may not apply to the Starter and Home Basic editions of Windows 7 since their Aero features are different than higher editions. DisplayFusion should include a warning about that option being disabled, or it should just automatically enable it when "Use transitions when changing wallpaper" is enabled in Wallpaper Settings. Your latest question prompted me to google a bit, and apparently "Turn off all unnecessary animations (when possible)" in Windows' Ease of Access was ticked on, removing the ticker worked. ::) Think it turned itself automatically on because of my performance settings.

Would be cool to have a warning about that, or it unticked automatically when DF setting is ticked and applied for that though.

I'm pretty sure this began when this months security updates for Windows 8.1 were installed. If the "Use transitions when changing wallpaper " is checked, wallpaper image is generated, (its in %appdata%\DisplayFusion folder) but it is not applied for some reason. Using ver 6b2, rollback to 5.1.1 didnt fix it. Reinstalled/rebooted several times.

2 attachments, first one with transitions off->change wallpaper, second one with transitions on->change wallpaper.

Only way to get wallpaper to change in any way using DF seems to be turning the transition effect off. CTRL+WIN+R shortcut nor the Desktop Wallpaper change it with the setting on. Any ideas? :) Sudden change in wallpapers makes me jump a bit. :D ]]>
