  • Minimise all desktop windows (using a NirSoft command) so the full wallpaper can be viewed
  • Pause the wallpaper (just in case it's about to change as I go to rate it)
  • Bring-up the rating UI
  • Load the next wallpaper after the rating UI has closed

Here's the batch script. I added a custom function with toolbar button and keystroke assignment for this within Display Fusion.

I performed a search for the text in the context menu "Rate this wallpaper image" and I found a key with this string:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\DisplayFusion\DisplayFusionSettings.exe" -Mode wallpaperrate

Running it loads the rating UI 8)

I intend to write a simple function (with Toolbar button & key-stroke combination) that will load the rating UI and will then load the next image thereafter. That way - I should be able to get a whole load of rating done :o)

A way to quickly rate using a range of stars (instead of the full UI) would be great but I understand why the full UI is beneficial.

Having always used a predefined set of local images as my wallpapers; I'm really loving the diversity of Wallpaper Fusion. What a brilliant system, well done Binary Fortress :)

I've been playing around a lot recently with tags to filter out images that I don't want to appear BUT at the same time; this obviously blocks whole groups of images; some of which I may actually like.

So, I've decided to rate on an image-by-image basis.

I can see the request & development of the very handy "Rate This Wallpaper" context menu option within this thread.

I'm just wondering if there's any quicker way to rate a wallpaper (or at least bring up the rating UI with one click / key combination)? Can this be achieved using a DF function, a DF command line flag etc?

DisplayFusion needs to re-apply it on startup to make sure the settings are consistent with what's enabled in the Settings window.

However, for your purposes, you can just do this:
  • Rename the ...DesktopBackground\Shell\DisplayFusion key to "DisplayFusion2"
  • Disable the "Show in Desktop Context Menu" option in DisplayFusion and apply the settings
  • Make your edits to the SubCommands value

After doing that, DisplayFusion won't try to recreate those values, and it won't remove them either, since they're in a different reg key.

Just to be a pain, please could DF not reinstate the SubCommands key when I remove these two options from it?

Only because I'm a clumsy prat and keep clicking the 'rate wallpaper' because I'm not used to it being there. So, I found and removed the "rate" and "show in explorer" commands from the SubCommands key, only to have them reappear after restarting my PC.

I don't need a settings option to remove them, it's not worth your effort when it takes me ten seconds in regedit, but I don't think that rewriting that key is in any way necessary once DF has been installed.

To be clear, it's this key:

Can you please add ratings? Because I keep getting some ugly or questionable wallpapers showing up on my WORK desktop, so like I said it could be something as simple as a RIGHT CLICK.

Right Click on the DF icon or the desktop and simply submit a rating PLUS maybe an option to NEVER show again. Still, it is cool that you can add so many wallpapers from Wallpaper Fusion based on filters and other what-nots, but you need an easier way for us to submit ratings without having to log onto your website.

Nowhere in DisplayFusion is there an option to RATE an image and by that I mean some "right click" implementation where you can submit a rating from your desktop.

Worse-case scenario is require someone to "right click" the DP system icon and then have a menu selection to submit a rating for the current wallpaper being displayed. This way you could rate a wallpaper that might have been rated a 5 with a 1 and then NEVER have it displayed again, because currently it seems I have to go to the website to submit any rating so this should be integrated properly.

This would distinguish WallpaperFusion from some of the other selections, since it would allow a user to easily create their own ratings without having to go all over the place.
