The setting you're looking for is under the Taskbar section, and is called "Remove Hot Corner Padding (Win8)."

The dev, it must be said, was caught somewhat unawares that you had been incorporating CS into (commercial) DF (back when you were, initially) - and so his answers could seem a bit surly. Not that you did anything wrong, but it's one of those "it'd be nice if they had asked first" type of thing.

To be fair, that sounds a wee disingenuous - after all, he did offer (in public) to entertain any meagre code necessary for 3rd party folk to manipulate their own back-doors (pseudo-API's, etc). But like any good coder, he helps those who help themselves - as in, "it's for your customers - why should I write it for you?" (Id est, "You lads get paid for this malarkey.")

Regarding the menu opening to the left: This unfortunately appears to be a compatibility issue with the Classic Shell Start menu being moved over to the other screen. First bug - There's quite a gap between the edge of the screen, and the start button. I've tried everything... even went as far as uninstalling and reinstalling both DisplayFusion and Classic Shell. No luck.

Second Bug - When I click on the start menu on my second monitor, and select 'All Programs', the sub menu decides to open to the left of the menu, overlapping onto my first monitor. It's unusable :(.
