TBH, if you're not using a touchscreen (and I doubt many people are running DF on tablets) just turn off the useless invisible border using the border padding setting in WinAero tweaker.

Border Padding has caused all kinds of little window positioning glitches ever since it was added in Vista, and unless you're really inaccurate with a mouse it adds nothing useful whatsoever. At least in Vista and 7, the official UI had a way to get rid of it.

The setting was removed in 8, but the glitches were generally not noticible as the padded border was still visible. Now it's invisible in 10 and things look awful.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics\PaddedBorderWidth = 0 if you don't want to install a 3rd party app.
As to why it's not happening with my system, the only difference I can think of is Windows 10 version. The last time you posted your troubleshooting info, you were on Windows 10 build 10240. I'm currently on the November (1511) update, which is build 10586. Are you still on 10240?

I even tried to do the auto hide for the taskbar then unhide it, but it still moves away after it's reopened. Only the top locks, the sides and the bottom all have that spacing.

No, I was asking what you just described. Basically if snapping distance was how far away it needed to be to an edge of a window before DisplayFusion grabbed it.

I started to wonder if I misunderstood based on your request before, to increase my distance from 3 to 10 or 15. I was then that I realized I probably misunderstood how it worked.

So you just clarified that for me.

But to my other question of why if DF grabs the window now further out, it doesn't "stay" grabbed if I space the window properly to fit three corners of my screen.

By that, if you look at the picture I put in the question, DF will set the top of the window for Firefox, but if you look at the right side of the screen and the bottom near the taskbar, there is a "small gap" the always remains. I can resize a window and fill it and everything is fine, "until" I close the window. Once I close it, then it reopens with that small gap again.

For every window except the email client in the picture, does this no matter what side of the screen it's on.

Initially when I installed the beta it went a way, but after a couple days it came back. The only change I made last night to try to get rid of the gap was to turn off Windows 10 snapping. I thought it might be interfering with DF in someway. But that didn't seem to be the case.

Hey Keith,

I tried what you said. I guess two things:

1.) I guess I don't understand what they snapping distance is? Is it the distance away that it grabs the window to snap it? I was thinking for some reason that it was how far away that it would float the window. Just trying to confirm that point I guess.

2.) I included a picture. Somehow only my Email client snaps to the corners properly. When I try to snap anything to the right side of my screen (as you see in my screenshot using Firefox), the top snaps OK and everything remains where it should, but the right side and bottom float away from the side and bottom of the task bar.

If all windows did it I could understand, but the email client doesn't but any "new" windows I open all do that. Do you have any idea of how I fix that?

Thanks. (^_^)
