Will do. I installed the beta and am still seeing the high CPU issues but will follow your steps first and send you the logging info.

Hi guys,

We are continuing to work on the high CPU issues, and we're also going to be adding some new metrics and extra information to the debug logging for the next beta. I'll be sure to let you know as soon as it's available to try out.

Also note, you can set the process Priority and Affinity in the DisplayFusion Advanced Settings, that way it will take affect every time DisplayFusion is started

Hopefully that will at least make it usable until we can find a permanent fix for the issue.

Thanks!

I thought the cpu priority is only functional, if there are other applications competing for the cpu amount. In my case, laptop is mostly idle, and DF keeps 15-20. So, do you think priority would help? I believe, it will keep using the same amount since there is no competing application, most of the time.

Also, I havent tried cpu affinity; I will definitely give a try.

You're correct; in my case it's taking about 10-20% on a regular basis, but when an app opens (or even closes, looks like, but especially opening) it'll pin to 80-100% for 4-5 seconds, and that keeps going if I open another app or tab. So in that case it will definitely help performance of other apps. Affinity just make sure that it leaves at least a couple CPUs alone so other apps can use them, again for increased apparent performance of everything else.
A workaround is to set the Priority of DisplayFusion.exe to Below Normal (I use Process Explorer for this) so that although it continues to demand high CPU it doesn't drag down everything else you're trying to do. I also went in and set the Affinity of the app to not use a couple of my processors. I'm certain there are scriptable ways to do this every time you start up but I don't want to spend the effort to figure that out, as I'm sure a fix will be provided.
