It sounds like there are some group policy settings preventing you from changing things, including your wallpaper. Unfortunately there's nothing we can do on our end to help, but you can talk to your IT department to try to get that changed.

I was forced to reboot to erase the remnants and install anew. I don't know whether Acronis, Malwarebytes, or company policies could play a role in this, but I fear it might be more likely something linked to Windows protecting some of the system folders or files. Attaching a presentation with the screen shots.

I had a few issues completing the update, as I needed to regain administration rights on my laptop. First of all, I have already switched to the beta 3 version, and the CPU issue is gone, completely. DF works at average 3% CPU time. I have just updated to the latest version, and now the whole system is sluggish. DF is using in excess of 45% CPU time, and DF taskbar is simply frozen, unresponding. Never been this bad. Even launching settings often leads to the app not responding for entire minutes. I have many windows and tabs open, so my machine is typically under heavy load, but still, with an i5 CPU and 32 GB of RAM I'd expect it shouldn't take the DF taskbar several seconds to react to a click.

I found quite a few similar reports in the forum, but no clear advise as to what could be the cause of this issue or how to resolve it.

Are there any workarounds? ]]>
