Are you running the latest version of ZoneAlarm? I'm pretty sure you addressed this some time ago, but it reappeared.

When DF checks for a version update, usu. after Windows logon, and fails because of no connectivity, it pops up a balloon to say it failed to connect. Since the user is usually aware of connectivity (or lack thereof) and since update checking is never critical, I once again recommend that you remove the balloon notification as a nuisance. ]]>
