Not sure what it would be then, but one thing you can try is using Process Monitor (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-ca/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx) to see which process is writing to the C:\Windows\System32\oobe\info\backgrounds folder. To do that, in the Process Monitor Filter window, add a Path filter for any path that contains C:\Windows\System32\oobe\info\backgrounds. See the attached screenshot for reference.

If you check the Windows Task Manager > Processes tab, are any DisplayFusion.exe processes running? If the service is indeed still running, you should see DisplayFusionService.exe on the Processes tab.

Other things you can check are whether any files still exist in C:\Program Files (x86)\DisplayFusion, or check the Services console to see if DisplayFusionService is listed and Started there still.

My mistake then.

However, I don't have anything else that would change it away from what TweaksLogon changes it to. The only three other applications I installed (the first two of which I uninstalled nearly straight away) were Synergy, ShareMouse, and Mouse Without Borders - none of these have logon background changing utilities in them.

Hmm, I just realised that the images are built-in Win7 theme images...

However, I find that the logon background is somehow still being managed by DisplayFusion, as it's stock images are still being cycled through with each unlock/log-in. I do not want these images cycled through, and I want to change it using another method I've used for a few years.

(Personally, I believe a free version of an application should not change base functionality of a system and then force those changes onto the user, but rather should just keep the original base functionality.) ]]>
