I am sorry to report that the CPU usage problem is not fixed. :[
Rebooting fixes it temporarily, but after awhile CPU usage seems to increase steadily (?!?) and after 5 or 6 hours I need to reboot again.

Keith, you wrote: "Just wanted to follow-up and let you know that we've released DisplayFusion 3.4.1 Beta 1, which includes a command line switch for loading Monitor Profiles".
Amazing! A company that listens to suggestions from its customers and implements them so quickly! I am glad I purchased that product. Anyway I eventually took the time to upgrade to v3.4.1 and notice very high CPU usage (~50%) and machine was unresponsive. I poked around and saw your other posts and upgraded to v3.5 Beta 1 and that fixed the problem.
NOW, here my question:
I want to use that brand new switch as in:
C:\Program Files\DisplayFusion\DisplayFusionCommand.exe -monitorloadprofile "My Regular Profile"
and it works BUT Windows (7) asks me if I want to keep the profile and gives me only 15 seconds to answer. Of course when you reboot you get out of the room to get a coffee or some other beverage, right? So there is no one to answer the prompt and Windows reverts to my awful default profile.
Is there a way to force the profile on Windows without having to reply to the prompt within the 15 seconds delay?
Thank you very much for your time and your help. Great product. Keep up the good work.

I really didn't mean to hijack this thread, but I'm glad I got the problem figured out. After the initial diagnosis above, I searched Google again using "windows live mesh remote connection service monitor" and came up with this explanation

thefrugaladmin.wordpress.com/2011/09/20/monitor-changes-to-non-default-resolution-on-rebootcaused-by-startup-service/

which is much better. Not only does it work, but you can re-enable the service. Why MS had to hardcode the screen resolution parameters in the registry is beyond me. If you change ANYTHING, i.e. hardware, resolution or orientation, then you are going to have display problems I would think.

I'm gone for now, and I'll be poking around in DisplayFusion to check out all of the neat desktop things that it can do. Thank you.

Thanks, Keith.

Due to your earlier immediate replies, I purchased the Home License for DF Pro. Let me explain why I wanted to run the profile load during boot-up. I am running two monitors, both Samsung in Windows 7. Monitor 1 is the primary and it is in Landscape mode. Monitor 2 is in Portrait. Right after the User Logon screen shows up, both monitors flip. Monitor 1 goes to Portrait and Monitor 2 goes to Landscape. It is easy enough to click on a user account and type the password (sideways). During that boot-up (triggered by User Logon), the following should occur: -monitorloadprofile "DualMonitorSetup". According to the Task Scheduler log, the task executes successfully. However, the monitors are still whacked out of shape. Once all of the startup programs have completed, I enter the hot-key to do the "DualMonitorSetup", and everything goes to where it should be (except for the soon-to-be-fixed Portrait (Flipped) issue <GRIN>).

2 Questions:

1) Do you have any idea what is making these monitors lose their orientation during re-boot? This all happened before I ran across DisplayFusion; and

2) Any idea why the hot-key works, while the DisplayFusionCommand.exe -monitorloadprofile "DualMonitorSetup" doesn't?

By the way, the command.exe thing does work when executed from a command prompt. I'm thinking that somewhere during that boot process, Windows isn't sure which monitor is which.

This is an update written about an hour after the above:
After about 7 months of playing with this, I finally found this thread:
http://windowslivehelp.com/thread.aspx?threadid=34baa1c7-181c-4431-8d9b-26802cf9e16a&page=1

It turns out that this whole problem is caused by Windows Live Mesh. The workaround suggested by the Windows user works, however the "fix" provided later in the post does not. At this point I have the Windows Live Mesh Remote Connector Service disabled via MSCONFIG, and all is well with my monitors at boot time.

I hope this helps others with this perplexing problem. My thanks to the original poster, eriklove

Everytime I boot I have to access "Monitor Profiles" and select "My Regular Profile". How can I automate this process so that the profile is automatically selected when I boot? Is there a set up somewhere to tell DisplayFusion "Use this Monitor Profile as my Default Monitor Profile" or perhaps a way to do this with the "DisplayFusionCommand" command line tool (in a StartUp batch file)?
Thanks!
BTW: Great software! Very useful with multiple monitors (I have 4) and much better than the competition. Congrats.
