As of yesterday, I've made the switch to Classic Shell, because Windows 10's Search is so God awful, literally ignores shortcuts that are in my Start Menu folder.

My hope is that you can bring back the Windows 7 way of doing things to work with Classic Shell (I understand that its probably a lot of work to do for an unofficial program). But just imagine Keith, if you can do this you'd be a Hero, you'd get so many anime titties, so many.

That old option from Windows 7 isn't possible any more in Windows 8 and 10. Microsoft made the Start menu a Universal app, which can't be hooked like the old Windows 7 Start menu could

We added that "Move newly opened application windows" option as a partial work around, but it definitely isn't ideal in all situations.

If you want to have your music player always on the second monitor, you could create a Trigger rule to move that specific application. It will override the "Move newly opened" option.

If we're able to come up with a better solution, we'll definitely post an update!

Thanks!

Does this not work the same anymore as in Windows 7?

I used to have it so if an application was opened from monitor 2 the window would open on that side, it seems to no longer work on Windows 10 using the latest beta7.

I see there is a new option called "Move newly opened application windows to the current monitor" but I find this insanely buggy/not what I want it to do at all. It tends to move things to the side of the monitor your cursor is at, not to the side the program was opened on, also some things like my music player I have to have permanently on the second monitor, and when I use my keyboard hotkey to play my music, it will actually move it to my primary monitor if that side has focus.
