I've got shortcuts to set window size+position to several combinations now, depending on whether I need Chrome windows, Chrome+Hangouts chat, etc. Amazing.

I missed using Win+arrow like I did in Win7, but couldn't live with having to also enable Window Snapping. For some reason the attached file didn't work me, but it made me discover a whole world of scripts. I found a couple of scripts ("Move Window to Right Side and Size 90% Width, 100% Height" and its left side match) that do close to what I want. I modified them to change window width to 90% and now I plan to explore the options to create a script that splits the last two active windows side by side.

You can import it on the Settings > Functions tab.

For the other thing, if you open both windows, you can then create Custom Functions using their values. You can assign hotkeys to the functions, or add them to the TitleBar Buttons to run them.

Is this possible with DF?

Another related question - I also like to have two windows side by side, maximized vertically but almost (90%) maximized horizontally. This makes it very convenient to quickly switch between two related windows. Granted, Alt+Tab achieves a similar goal, but is less reliable when other windows are also accessed in between.
