Hi all,

I just bought a new Dell Precision 7710 and it's got a beautiful UHD screen. While this is amazing and all, I often dock it to 1080p and WUXGA monitors. When this happens, scaling gets weird, and also when I go back to laptop display.

Since some scaling only resets after a logout, is there anything to get around this or perhaps a way to make a DisplayFusion profile logout and login automatically?

Does anyone know if any of this is changing or scheduled to change with any of the upcoming Windows 10 Insider Builds?

Is there any way displayfusion will have monitor scaling setting in Monitor Config? That'd be great to include in monitor profiles.

Unfortunately I don't think Microsoft will make it possible to change the scaling level without a logout/login any time soon :(

We're hoping to add scaling options to the DisplayFusion Monitor Configuration and Monitor Profiles in a future version, but they will still require a manual logout/login. We can force the logout to happen automatically, but there isn't any way that we could force it to login without user intervention.

Sorry!

I think having the setting as part of profiles would be huge, and even an auto-logout (with option for on and off).

If you guys could look into WHY a logout is required, that be huge too... because even if you could re-trigger the shell load or something to workaround it, that would be a nice hack.

The issue is that some applications (including explorer.exe!) don't always respond to the scaling change messages correctly, so the forced logout/login is mostly just to force close all running processes and restart them. Unfortunately it's not something we could force from our end really :(

It's been a long time coming, but we've finally added the ability to set the monitor scaling level in DisplayFusion's Monitor Configuration and Monitor Profiles. This is available in the latest beta version, here: https://www.displayfusion.com/download/beta

Thanks!
