DisplayFusion License (EULA)

Please read the terms and conditions of this license agreement carefully before continuing with this installation. Binary Fortress Software's end-user license agreement ("EULA") is a legal agreement between you (either an individual or a single entity) and Binary Fortress Software for the software products identified above which may include associated software components, media, printed materials, and "online" or electronic documentation ("software"). By installing, copying, or otherwise using the software, you agree to be bound by the terms of this EULA. This license agreement represents the entire agreement concerning the program between you and Binary Fortress Software, (referred to as "licenser"), and it supersedes any prior proposal, representation, or understanding between the parties. If you do not agree to the terms of this EULA, do not install or use the software.

Binary Fortress Software grants you the right to install and use a copy of the software, within the limits of the license restrictions (listed below), on a computer running a validly licensed copy of the operating system for which the software was designed. You may also make copies of the software as may be necessary for backup and archival purposes.

The software is protected by copyright laws and international copyright treaties, as well as other intellectual property laws and treaties. The software is licensed, not sold. All title, including but not limited to copyrights, in and to the software and any copies thereof are owned by Binary Fortress Software. All title and intellectual property rights in and to the content which may be accessed through use of the software is the property of the respective content owner and may be protected by applicable copyright or other intellectual property laws and treaties. This EULA grants you no rights to use such content. All rights not expressly granted are reserved by Binary Fortress Software.

The free version of DisplayFusion is ONLY valid for PERSONAL USE. If you are using DisplayFusion in a company environment, you must use a DisplayFusion Pro Standard, Site or Enterprise license. Non-profit, charity or educational institutions may use the free version without purchasing a license.

The Standard License version of DisplayFusion is valid for 1 computer only. The Standard License may be used in a personal or company environment. This computer may be used by more than 1 person, but only 1 person may use this license at a time.

The Personal version of DisplayFusion is ONLY valid for PERSONAL USE. You may use the Personal version on as many personal computers in your home as needed. You may use the Personal version on a single company computer, if you are the only user of the company computer. You must remove the license when returning the computer to the company.

The Site License version of DisplayFusion is valid for an unlimited number of computers at 1 physical location (site).

The Enterprise License version of DisplayFusion is valid for an unlimited number of computers at an unlimited number of physical locations (sites) belonging to the purchasing company.

The Steam License version of DisplayFusion (from Valve Software's Steam Store) is valid for any computer that you own or are the primary user of. Steam does not need to be running in order to use DisplayFusion, but you must have Steam installed, and have a purchased DisplayFusion license in your own personal Steam account.

You must not remove or alter any copyright notices on any and all copies of the software. You may not distribute registered copies of the software to third parties. Free versions available for download from Binary Fortress Software's website may be freely distributed with written permission from Binary Fortress Software - this does not include paid for versions. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software in whole or in part, except and only to the extent that such activity is expressly permitted by applicable law notwithstanding this limitation. You may not rent, lease, or lend the software. Reselling this software is prohibited without express written consent from Binary Fortress Software. Binary Fortress Software may provide you with support services related to the software. Any supplemental software code provided to you as part of the support services shall be considered part of the software and subject to the terms and conditions of this EULA. You must comply with all applicable laws regarding use of the software.

DisplayFusion will occasionally check for a newer version with our update servers ( During this update process, DisplayFusion will send:

  • Product Version (ex: 8.4.1)
  • Windows Version (ex: 6.2.9200)
  • Windows Bitness (ex: 32 or 64)
  • Feature Status (ex: which product features you have enabled, no specific details are sent about how they are configured)
  • License Hash (ex: a hashed string of your license key, if applicable)

Sending this information allows us to tailor the updates and only serve files that you need. This saves both of us bandwidth by not downloading unnecessary files and ensures that your version of DisplayFusion is always up-to-date. You can opt out of these update checks at any time by unchecking the 'Check for updates automatically' option in the DisplayFusion Settings window.

DisplayFusion will occasionally send anonymized telemetry data and crash reports. During this process, DisplayFusion will send:

  • Product Version
  • Windows Version
  • Device Type
  • Language

Sending this information allows us to improve the quality of our software with improved crash reporting and telemetry. You can opt out of this any time using the 'Disable Crash Reporting and Telemetry' option in the DisplayFusion Advanced Settings window.

DisplayFusion integrates with a number of online wallpaper providers. Binary Fortress Software is not responsible for any of the images loaded from these providers. Some image search queries are proxied through the Binary Fortress Software servers for performance and cost reasons. No personal identifying information is ever stored or logged during these proxied requests. These are the online image providers that are proxied:

  • Bing Desktop
  • Bing Image Search
  • Digital Blasphemy
  • Wallpaper Abyss

Without prejudice to any other rights, Binary Fortress Software may terminate this EULA if you fail to comply with the terms and conditions. In such event, you must destroy all copies of the software in your possession.

Binary Fortress Software expressly disclaims any warranty for the software. The software is provided as-is without any express or implied warranty of any kind, including but not limited to any warranties of merchantability, non-infringement, or fitness of a particular purpose. Binary Fortress Software does not warrant or assume responsibility for the accuracy or completeness of any information, text, graphics, links or other items contained within the software. Binary Fortress Software makes no warranties respecting any harm that may be caused by the transmission of a computer virus or other such computer program. Binary Fortress Software further expressly disclaims any warranty or representation to Authorized Users or to any third party.

In no event shall Binary Fortress Software be liable for any damages (including, without limitation, lost profits, business interruption, or lost information) rising out of use of or inability to use the software, even if Binary Fortress Software has been advised of the possibility of such damages. In no event will Binary Fortress Software be liable for loss of data or for indirect, special, incidental, consequential (including lost profit), or other damages based in contract, tort or otherwise. Binary Fortress Software shall have no liability with respect to the content of the software or any part thereof, including but not limited to errors or omissions contained therein, libel, infringements of rights of publicity, privacy, trademark rights, business interruption, personal injury, loss of privacy, moral rights, or the disclosure of confidential information.
