I just started using DF and am having some trouble setting this up.

First I went to "monitor configuration" and split my 3440x1440 monitor into a row of three equal width windows using preset splits, each a virtual monitor. After doing this the time/date on windows 1 and 3 are distorted, but not middle window 2 (see attachment).

I saved this configuration as "Profile 1". Apparently, this doesn't save the 3 windows I created using "monitor configuration", as these windows disappeared some time later. Is this the correct behavior? Or do I need to go to Windows Position Profile to save them? If not what is WPP?

Hello,

1) Are you using any scaling settings above 100% on your monitor? If so, that's likely what's causing that clock issue. Signing out and back in should fix that up.

2) The Monitor Profiles will only save your monitor setup. It sounds like the Window Position Profiles are what you're looking for.

Hope that helps!

[QUOTE]Hello,

Thanks for the quick responses.

1) Are you using any scaling settings above 100% on your monitor? If so, that's likely what's causing that clock issue. Signing out and back in should fix that up.

I was at 100% on that monitor. Don't know what you mean by "clock issue", as it was a date/time font size issue in the task bar, but I restarted my computer and the issue went away.

2) The Monitor Profiles will only save your monitor setup. It sounds like the Window Position Profiles are what you're looking for.

I would be more intuitive if you could save the windows position profiles in the same part of the app where they were created-is this possible?

I'm still struggling though and more questions, answers for which I couldn't find in Help or in a youtube video:

1. Using the start button to open applications, I would expect that they open in that particular virtual monitor, but they don't-they open up in another virtual monitor. How do you fix this?

2. An extremely basic function I want is choose whether to move a window to the left or right virtual monitor from the monitor the window is presently in. But right clicking on the "move window" icon in the title bar and Run Function on Window->Window Move Size, I don't see this option. What is the "move to next or previous monitor"? If this pertains to some monitor "ordering", it's not something I'd like to use, since "left/right" is more naturally intuitive.

3. Even better, is there a way to right click on a titlebar icon and have it show me graphically the virtual monitor configuration so that that I can just left click on the virtual monitor to which I want to directly move a window?

4. When I click on the Windows start button in a DF taskbar, the start menu on the windows task bar opens momentarily first. Is this normal or can it be avoided.

5. It's still convenient to occasionally use Windows 10 "snapping" (turn on with system/multitasking). Does this interfere in any way with DF?

Hello,

2) If you open up the DisplayFusion Settings window and head to the "Window Position Profiles" tab, you can save/edit/load/delete all of your profiles there.

As for your new questions:

1) Are these applications opening on your primary monitor?

2) By default, your monitor ordering should be left to right. So using the "Move window to next monitor" should move the window to the right, and previous to the left.

3) We have a function called "Move window to different monitor (Show monitor selector)" that you can add as a titlebar button (DisplayFusion Settings > Functions > "Move window to different monitor" > Toggle Titlebar Button).

4) Unfortunately no, we need to wait until the start menu has been opened before we can hook it and pull it over.

5) It shouldn't interfere, nope!

Thanks!
