Did not really know how to title this so hopefully I have described the situation I am encountering here.

This problem started over a yearm ago but was not annoying until this past week. I come back to my system and the screen is locked. I unlock the screen and I am met by a ghosted desktop with half of the desktop overlayed with the ghosted copy of the clear desktop flashing and pixelated in a bars pattern.

This does not happen all of the time, usually only when the system is left on over night. But I just got back from a break, unlocked the system, and I had the condition again and I was only away for 10 minutes. Usually it is the second monitor on which this occurs, but today it has been the first monitor.

The only fix is to reboot.

I have tried to get a screen shot, but that does not work as it does not display the issue.

I have two LG 4K 24" monitors and my laptop is a Lenovo ThinkPad 4950 using a Dell Thunderport 3 docking station. The monitors are both on DisplayPort cables.

I am just looking for a fix to this situation.

That's a strange one, I've never seen that happen before. Does it happen every time or only intermittently?

It is intermittent. But seems to happen more often when the system has been left on over night for a number of days.

One other thing. I have DisplayFusion installed on my HP desktop but have only one monitor (same LG model as the laptop but did have multiple monitors and only had this issue occur once) and it has never had the problem with one monitor, so it appears related to multiple monitor setups only.

To be clear. The flashing is on the lefthand side of the primary monitor, not the second one. But when it is flashing, you cannot interact with anything on the lefthand side of the monitor. Thankfully, you can use the toolbar on the second monitor to do a reboot to clear it.

Any chance you could capture a video of it with your phone?
