Until there is an upgrade to force the audio of windows/applications on a monitor to an audio device, I will have to manually switch profiles. The problem I am having is that the program shows 3 unknown audio devices and will not let me select any of them as my audio device in the profile. I have a RealTek HD audio chipset in my motherboard with 2 audio outputs and an AMD Radean video card with HDMI output (including audio). I want to select the HDMI output in one profile and the RealTek output in another. VLC has not problem identifying the audio devices and switching on its own, but I want to be able to do it for all application.

How can I get Display Fusion to do this? This feature was the main reason I went from free to pro.

Would you be able to attach a debug log? Here are the steps:
  • On the Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "Logging: Important Only"
  • Restart DisplayFusion
  • Try to set the Audio Device using the DisplayFusion tray menu, then try to assign it to a profile in the Monitor Configuration window, note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
  • Send us the DisplayFusion.log and DebugInfo.html files (can be found by clicking the Open Log button on the Troubleshooting tab)
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

Thanks!

Thanks! We'll check these out and let you know when we've got some more news, or if we need any additional info from you.

I've got good news and bad news. The good news is that we've just released DisplayFusion 6.0.1 Beta 1 (http://www.displayfusion.com/Download/Beta/) and it should now be able to switch Audio Devices in Windows Vista properly. The bad news, is that Vista doesn't return the proper device names when we ask for them, so you'll have to do a bit of trial and error to figure out which one is which in the list.

Thanks!
