Hi,

Really appreciating the power of Display Fusion. There is one thing I am trying to achieve: If I have 5 windows open on my 1 large monitor (4K - 52 inch) how can I save all the current window positions and when I minimise all and then restore get them to reappear in the correct split area of the 1 monitor. If I use the "save window position" and "restore window position from last save" it returns all windows correctly accept for MS office ones whereby they go full-screen on whole monitor (ignoring the splits). Seems to be unique to office progs only?

Edit - After further investigation it only happens with MS programs - Office and Visual Studio code. When I restore these windows they ignore splits and go full screen. Workaround is to restore all windows so they aren't maximised, then save. Then the "restore window position form last save" works?

Hi Richard,

Could you send me over a debug log? Here are the steps:
  • On the DisplayFusion Settings > Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal" and click Apply
  • Reproduce the issue and note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
  • Click the "Export Info to File" button on the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Reply with the file attached
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

Thanks!

Hi Owen, Thanks for response. Attached is log file. I have 4 windows open in a 5 split monitor (3 separate instances of MS Visual Code and one of Chrome), all maximised in individual splits. At 15:12 I saved all windows and then restored windows. The 3 MS studio code windows went full monitor screen with only the chrome window remaining confined to the split.

Hi Richard,

Yup we are currently looking into it, thanks for sending that video over! We still can't seem to reproduce the issue on our end. Can you try updating to beta 2 on our website and see if the issue persists? Here's the link: https://www.displayfusion.com/Download/Beta/

Thanks!

Hi Owen,

It is also doing it on the new beta. It is very odd it only does it with microsoft programs. Google chrome restores properly as do other non MS programs. Very strange!

Hi Richard,

Interesting, could you send over a backup of your settings? You can grab them in the options tab in Display Fusion, with the "Export Settings" button.

Thanks!

Hi Owen,

Please find settings attached. I have some functions and triggers defined that maximise windows into their splits upon opening . As you say, you need to be able to replicate the effects yourself. I did disable both the functions and triggers temporarily and it didnt seem to make a difference.

Hi Richard,

Thanks for sending those over. It looks like we were able to reproduce the issue on our end with your settings, so we've added this to our list to fix up. We'll be sure to let you know if we have any further information on it in the future.

Thanks!

This issue should be fixed up in the latest beta, available here: https://www.displayfusion.com/Download/Beta. Please let me know if you still run into any trouble after updating.

Thanks!
