My hotkeys have all stopped working. The two big changes I have recently made are using a kvm switch and using synergy. I tried to trouble shoot by:
Removing both of these things from my system
Changing what buttons activate my hotkeys, currently they are all win key + letter
Booting into safe mode to see if hotkeys worked there
Stopping all running software but displayfusion

None of this has worked.

1. Yes it works by itself
2. No changing the hotkey away from the windows key didnt work. On a side note I am not able to change hotkeys to ctrl + shift + ?, the shift key always forces itself to be first.

Next thing I am going to troubleshoot is my razer black widow keyboard. I already uninstalled the software, though it was never an issue before. I am going to try and clear any macros i may have inadvertently created. It is not set on game mode or any other mode far as i can tell.

It's not the keyboard because I tested another keyboard and it still doesn't work. I am going to try reinstalling now.

So resinstalling has fixed the problem. If I load my saved settings however hotkeys stop working. So I am going to have to remake all my shortcuts and change all my settings how I want them. Sigh.

Is there a way in DF for defaulting all your settings?

The strangeness continues, I restored from backup then reset all settings. Then I assigned new hotkey and it didn't work. I then restored to the backup I made right before I attempted this and the hotkeys continued the work as they have been for the last day.

It happened again to me, a month or so later. Rebooting the pc does not fix it, my hotkey combo that sets windows the way I liked totaly fails and is super frustrating. I gotta go in and delete the hotkey then re add it and that sometimes fixes it. Can I debug some process, ghidra, and provide info so devs here can look at it right now as it iis bugged, so man7be can fixz it?

I thappened again and I did another test to fix it that worked that I did not try before, pretty quick fix too. Goto right click icon taslbar>settings:functions.
Then at the top i unchecked ENABLE HOTKEYS, then i put a check inthere again, and it fixed it. please fix this isue devs, this is the main reason I boughgt the software, visually impaired, magnifier windows on monitor # 2, and after everyu afk asleep, windows puts the magnifier window back on the main screen, and i gotta drag it over to monitor # 2 and resize it! Hotkey does it instantly when it is working.

Yes it did after a >RESTART. As a side note, it will not run unless adminstrator mode either, I get what looks like some kind of permission error. So ya then tested and it is running for sure, no mistake becuase I got to settings menu from right click the taskbar icon on right>settings. It is kind of random too, it works great for quite some time, I trhink at least a month or more. ANy time the monitors sleep or turned off, the magnifier moves ot main screen stupid windows so I need it every time I come back. If it matters at al, I can add that I am using Televisions, not pc monitors, if thta makes any difference. LG C2 42 inch for main screen, and a crappy no name 65 inch as the second display, that has the magnifier window docked. Funny thing, I need to look LEFT at bigass second monitor to read websites! Used to it by now.

BUt this is insane too to report to you, when I right click> run as adminn, I get the same error as when not admin. only by compatibility tab>run as admin checkbox does it work. very strange indeed. If you want more test options, my system is win 11 enterprise, and if it makes any diference I debloated it with a program called crapfixer, all in one crap fixer for win11. I am not in any way contorled by an organization, no group policy has been applied to me, just a default install then crapfixer. I should clarify, upgraded from win10 enterprise, if that upgrade matters at all.

I got more info. I don't reboot often. It seems to hape at each reboot. I uncheck and check and it fixes it each time. WOuld u consider trying to insall windows 11 enterprise fresh on a test rig, configure it, see if u have isame issues. if you do we can narrow it down to win11 enterprise somewhere, which wuld be excelent to at least know for sure. Big update big news, think I found it, not sure how to fix yet. I checked the certificate for Binary Fortress Software Ltd, and myt certificate for it July 23, 2026. Is that normal or does that mean expired then? Gemini also knew about my issue where rght click run as admin does not work, but perm putting the check box as admin in compat setitngs does work, gemeini knew of ths behavior with failt certificates. I also checked group plicy and it does not look like anyhting is blocving my rot updaytes either, not 10)% but looks ok

Also confirmed,. not cause by reboot itself, simply closing the app and loading it again, as admin, same problem.

Could u write me a script real quick that will ewffectively uncheck and rechek box the hotkey funtion, so I could use it as a logon script and it then wil auto fix the problem. Powershell scrit maybe, or an autoit script I could use too, I could install autoit scriptwrite engine, or maybe powershell I could use it as auto logon sctipt

Or maybe if you could put a little fix in advanced settings, recmmendeded that no one use it in description, but I will cick it and it will force the hotkey fuction to turn off and on after software launches, so itr would then again be seamless for me or anyone else having this issue

Biggest news ever for this isue. I can replicate this issue 100% of time time at will, maybe u can try it see if the same and create fix? Simply by running it as admin fromt he compatibility tab checkbox causes the issue to hapen every time. I can close the program, runit again, and the hotkeys fail again. Are the hotkeys tryihg to hook the system while the UAC prompt is still up, and denied before I can hit OK so it stays disabled? If so putting about 1 5 second delay on the hotkey hooks would give users time to hit OK to uac prompt. I am just throwing it out there, not a modern programmer by any means.

Not the case. When it is set in compstibility tab, the noral windows uac prompt that is expected comes up and it runs fine, but at this point the hotkeys have failed. To clarify, a simple right click>run as admin by itself alone gives the cannot start error we taled about. As we speak I have compat tab set to admin all the time, I run it at startup log in, then I goto funcitons and uncheck recheck shortut off on then it works perfectly untri;l next reboot.

Also same error when just run normally 100% of the time

I was forced to run as administrator becuase if I do not, the software does not run AT ALL. It is that error we talked about erlier, the only way I can get any functionality is as admin. I would prefer to run nothing as admin.
