I have a bit of an odd situation where displayfusion is the closest program to theoretically doing what I'd really need, but it doesn't quite do it (as far as I can tell from looking things over)

Maybe you can point me in the right direction with this, or maybe it'll even make a useful DF feature.

Alright, here's my situation. I work with a VPN on a daily basis for work. The VPN has some specific and strict security requirements to allow me to access it: I need to have a screensaver set, with password, at 15 minutes or less.

However, when I'm off work, I'd like to be able to use the same PC for Steam Home Streaming and that 15 minutes is a royal pain. What I'd like to see is a way to have DF detect the presence of a running application of my choice and set up the screensaver settings one way I choose, and if that program is closed, set up the screensaver settings a slightly different way.

Is there any existing way to do this?

Hi,

I'd thought it'd be good to post here, as my issue is also screen saver related.

I'd like to be able to have my main monitor (laptop) turn the screen saver on after a timeout of 1 minute. However, I'd like to be able to continue using my extended monitor. I read a post from a few years back, 2011 I think, which referred to technical limitations within Windows that prohibited this. However, Actual Multiple Monitors is able to achieve just this.

Is this feature already in DisplayFusion, or will it be added to a future update? For the first case, could you please explain to me how it works, or rather, which settings I need to change?

Regards,

Stuart.

@Firehawke: There isn't an existing way to do this, though you could run the "Disable Screen Saver" function via TitleBar Button or HotKey when you want to use the computer for personal stuff.

@Stuart: There isn't a way to do this in DF yet. DF uses the built-in Windows API for launching the screen saver, and it doesn't allow it to only occur on a single monitor. I'm not sure how AMM does it, but I'm guessing that they've built their own idle timeout/screen saver launching stuff from scratch.
