I have a dual monitor setup with two different brands, so each both have different brightness levels, the problem lies that depending on the time of day I have to manually adjust each of the monitors brightness, at least 3 times a day, to save my eyes from either too much brightness or not bright enough.

I wish there could be an option to create screen filters to create custom dimming profiles, (since brightness adjustment is mostly done by the monitor's hardware, a screen filter can easily achieve the same effect in software), with separate settings for each monitor, that can be switched or cycled with a hotkey or toolbar button.

The closest solution I have found is a open source app called FriendEye (http://sourceforge.net/projects/friendeye/), it allows to set different screen filter colors (dark, sepia, green) the downside, it only works on the main monitor, and it does not allow saving different profiles, I still have to manually adjust the setting during the day.

F.lux (http://stereopsis.com/flux/), its another free tool that automatically adjust to a yellowish-Orange color (a rather relaxing color, just not as useful as a simple dark screen for color sensitive work), according to the time of day, the problem that it does not allow to set personal profiles, and most of the time the auto-adjustments are not optimal for the actual time of day or light available.

Hopefully this can be considered as part of the tools suite, thank you.

We actually do have an open feature request for monitor dimming. I've added your vote to it, and if we're able to implement it in the future, we'll be sure to let you know.

Thanks!
