Hi guys! Just want to start out by saying I love your software, but I noticed this bug that has been annoying me for a while.

This is my setup: My graphics card (ATI Raedon 7950) has two monitors connected to it via DVI and miniDisplay port that are both in my den side by side that i use on a daily basis (monitor 1 and monitor 2). My den has a 5.1 surround sound system (sound system 1)connected to my computer's sound card. My graphics card has a 3rd HDMI port that has a long HDMI cable connected to it that eventually goes to an HDMI splitter. This unpowered HDMI splitter simply reroutes the signal between 2 HDMIs with a press of a button. One of these HDMIs goes to the receiver that controls the UPSTAIRS 5.1 surround sound system (sound system 2)and TV, and the other HDMI goes to the receiver that controls the DOWNSTAIRS 7.2 surround sound system (sound system 3) and projector. I bought an Xbox 360 wireless controller receiver and wireless keyboard so that I can play video games on both my upstairs and downstairs setup depending on my choosing. Therefore, monitor 3 in my setup is either one of two displays with its corresponding sound systems.

My monitor profiles are as follows:
1) Den: Activate monitors 1 and 2 (in the den), disable monitor 3. Audio device set to sound system 1 in the den ---- this is basically for using the computer in the den regularly.
2) Upstairs TV: Disable monitors 1 and 2, activate monitor 3. Audio device set to 5.1sound system 2 upstairs --- this is to watch movies and play games on the upstairs TV and sound system
3) Downstairs projector: Disable monitors 1 and 2, activate monitor 3. Audio device set to 7.2sound system 3 downstairs.

The bug I am running in to is this: because the 2 sound systems of the upstairs TV and the downstairs projector are redetected by the computer as a new sound system everytime I press the button on the HDMI switch (because only one of them can be connected at a time), even if I set my monitor profiles to use the corresponding audio whenever I switch monitor profiles the sound DOES NOT change.

For example, I am using my computer with my upstairs TV (monitor profile 2). I decide I want to go downstairs. I go press the button on the HDMI switch to route the HDMI signal downstairs which brings up the downstairs 7.2 surround sound system under playback devices on the computer. I switch to monitor profile 3 so that the default playback device is set to that system but it doesn't switch. I'm guessing this is because the downstairs sound system playback device was disconnected and reconnected when i press the button on the HDMI switch.

Let me know if you guys need any more clarification. I tried to explain this as best I can. Thanks.

Interesting! We haven't run into that before. Does the name of the audio device change each time it's disconnected/reconnected?
