I am using the DisplayFusion taskbar on my second monitor. Normal Windows XP behavior(auto-hide = disabled) is to maximize a window, putting the bottom of the window against the top of the windows taskbar.

With DisplayFusion v3.1.4, when maximizing a window with auto-hide disabled, the bottom of the window is covered with the toolbar, making the bottom of the window not visible. Only remedy is to avoid maximizing windows, and manually resize the window to an acceptable size, and so, making the bottom of a window visible again.

The windows XP bahaviour is the "expected behavior" what should be the same in DisplayFusion. Is this issue occurring on all installations of DisplayFusion v3.1.4? Can it be resolved?

This bug is the same as described in http://www.binaryfortress.com/Forum/index.php?topic=1023.msg4139

Would you be able to post a screenshot of what it looks like when it happens, and the information from the Troubleshooting tab when it happens as well? Thanks!

Hi Jon,

Here are the screenshots you requested. These screenshots are made from maximized Firefox windows.

The Mozilla Firefox statusbar is visible when the Windows XP taskbar is on-top(Auto-hide the taskbar= disabled).

The Mozilla Firefox statusbar is not visible when the DisplayFusion taskbar is on-top(Auto-hide the DisplayFusion Taskbars= disabled). Clearly the DisplayFusion taskbar is covering the Firefox statusbar.

Thanks.

Joris

I fixed a similar bug to this in one of the betas. You can give that a try here:
http://www.binaryfortress.com/Forum/index.php?topic=1310.0

I'm interested to hear if it has taken care of this issue as well. Thanks!

Hi Jon,

Is there any way you can replicate this bug and eventually fix it?

Many thanks, and keep up the good work.

I have been trying to replicate the bug bug haven't had any luck. Does it happen with all applications, or just certain ones? Do you have any other docked windows (Google Desktop, Digsby... etc)? Does this problem happen all the time, or just occasionally?

I do have Google Desktop bar (looks like the Windows Vista sidebar). The bug is present with every application.

Heheh, smart!, When i close Google sidebar the problem is resolved, somehow the Google sidebar disables the ability of DisplayFusion to resize the window. For the time being i keep the sidebar shut down, however, if possible would be nice if it is possible to resolve this compatibility issue with Google's desktop sidebar.

Just to say, the sidebar is not automatically started when Google Desktop is installed, so not all Google Desktop users are affected with this compatibility issue.

Thanks.

Joris

Can you post a screenshot of your complete desktop when the problem is occurring? I would like to see the positioning of everything so I can try to reproduce the error here. Thanks!

Here a complete screenshot when the problem is occurring.
http://img194.imageshack.us/i/mydesktopt.png/

The most important is that Google sidebar is enabled, after enabling this, the problem returned within a hour(think a reboot with the Google taskbar enabled, also would introduce the problem).

Thanks for your help.

Joris

In an effort to cleanup the DisplayFusion forum, this topic is being locked and archived because it applies to an older version of DisplayFusion. If you are using the latest version of DisplayFusion and would still like some assistance, please create a new topic and I'll be happy to help you out. Thanks! :)
