I've used DF for years, I'm on Beta 15, all versions have always had this issue. I've just finally got around to complain about it because it is supremely annoying lol.

Every single time you change monitor IO, whether that is plugging in a new monitor, rebuilding your PC and plugging HDMI cables into different ports, etc. DisplayFusion handles this improperly and always without fail fucks up the saved pinned programs.

As someone who frequently adjusts my PC build with several monitors, and constantly unplugs and replugs a drawing tablet. DF makes using pinned programs on secondary monitors a royal pain in the ass.

It sounds like it's as simple as copy pasting pinned programs between monitors each time you reconfigure your hardware, but it is not. The problem runs deep. Sometimes you plug in your monitors to find that two monitors' pins combined onto one. Sometimes you plug them in to find all of them blank. Sometimes you unplug a monitor to troubleshoot it and then realise that your custom pins you painstakingly took the time to create were saved on the last entry in the list, so now you can never get them back (without going into your registry and manually reconfiguring all of this) without an additional monitor back in.

When I use other monitor software, such as WallpaperEngine, it saves all of the monitor-specific settings to the HWID of the plugged device? Why doesn't DF do this?

I hope this post conveys my feelings towards this issue well, it has been a passive frustration using your tools for multiple years, I have browsed this discussion forum thoroughly looking for answers every few months and given up numerous times- and I always expect that everyone deals with it and one day a beta will solve it.

It never does.

Thanks :L

Hi Mike,

Attaching the taskbar settings to the HWID is definitely something we can look into. I've added this to our feature request list. We don't guarantee that feature requests will be implemented, or offer timelines on possible implementation. We'll be sure to let you know if we do add it to our planned features in a future version.

If you would like, you can send over a backup of your settings (DisplayFusion Settings > Options > Export Settings), and we can copy the pinned buttons for a handful of monitor ID's and they should show up on any monitor you plugin.

Thanks!
