I have an ultrawide screen monitor (5120x1440) configured with a virtual split configured in the Monitor Configuration. I use Picture-In-Picture to put my work laptop side-by-side to my personal pc on the same monitor while working, causing the PC with DisplayFusion to switch to a 1760x1440 resolution, which is handled beautifully.

I noticed after upgrading to 12.0.x that when turning picture off and returning to the 5120x1440 resolution, the split is removed. The only way to get it to go back to the intended configuation is to open Monitor Configuration and Load profile for my default profile. This behaviour is new after upgrading.

Seems like a bug, but I'm open to it being user error too.

Something may have changed on the backend that's causing the profile to get missed in the auto detection. If you delete and re-create the profile, does the issue persist?

Removing the default (5120x1440) profile and re-adding it does not solve the issue.

One additional item; It seems like I can manually select the desired profile, and DF gives me the green "Detected" after manually selecting the profile. DF just doesn't automagically switch back, which is a bummer.

Could you send us a debug log for this issue?

  • On the DisplayFusion Settings > Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal" and then click "Clear Log"
  • Reproduce the resolution changing but profile not being detected, and note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
  • Click the "Export Info to File" button on the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Reply with the file attached
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

Thanks!

Please find the attached... All changes happened in the same minute the logs cover.

Could you update to our latest beta and recreate your profile, and see if it works?
