Hi there,

When I am recording gameplay with ShadowPlay, whatever is on my secondary monitor makes split second appearance every once in a while
When I quit displayfusion, the issue disappears. Any idea what causes this and how to solve the problem (other than exiting displayfusion when I want to record something)?

So the window on your second monitor appears in the recording that you're taking of the first monitor? That's really strange! I'm not sure what would be causing that, unfortunately. We'll see if we can test this out and reproduce it here.

Thanks for the reply !

Yes, that's exactly what's happening
I can provide an example if you need

Excellent, thanks! We'll test this out here, and if we need any additional information from your system, we'll definitely let you know!

I have put two examples in attachments: The same sequence with and without DisplayFusion

This example is pretty extreme because the second monitor appears for a few seconds at some point. It's usually more like the end of the video where it only flashes

I'm not seeing the attachments, would you be able to try attaching them again?

Thanks!

I had a connection issue when I posted, trying again...

Alright, doesn't seem to work. I've uploaded them on Youtube:

Wow, that's really strange! If you just disable the DisplayFusion multi-monitor taskbar feature, but leave DF running, does that make any difference?

I've tried to disable the multi-monitor taskbar, the problem is still there

Ok, I'll have to do some testing here to see if I can reproduce the same issue here. I'll keep you posted when I have more news!

Thanks!

I finally had a chance to test with ShadowPlay here, and couldn't reproduce this issue. I tested on a GTX 650 Ti, recording Serious Sam 3. I didn't see anything from the second screen flickering over top during the recording, or when playing back the recording.

Are you still able to reproduce this with DisplayFusion 8.0 Beta 9, and the latest NVIDIA drivers?

I was using the latest stable version, so I tried to update to the latest beta version. The bug is still there

I updated my drivers from version 368.39 to 368.69. The bug is still there

I have a GTX 770M

I just tried to changes to roles between my monitors (my primary became my secondary, and my secondary became my primary) and the bug disappeared

I have no idea what to do with this information, but maybe you do

Strange! So when the issue is occurring, which monitor ID is primary?

I suppose the ID is the number I see in Monitor Configuration in DisplayFusion? If that's the case, the ID is 1

Ok, thanks! And do you notice the issue during the recording, or only when playing back the video file?

Only when playing back the video file

Still can't reproduce it here. Does it happen with all games, or just specific ones? Also, which version of Windows are you running?

Ok, I've just re-tested in Windows 7 and still had no issues. In the DisplayFusion Settings > Advanced Settings, can you try enabling the "Disable Application Hooks" option, then restart DisplayFusion and see if that makes any difference?

I've tried, the issue is still there

To be honest, it's only a little annoyance for me (I just have to remember to exit DF before recording, and I don't use DF when I'm playing a fullscreen game anyway)

I don't really mind if no solution is found. Don't lose too much time on this
However, if you still want to find the origin of the bug, I don't mind following your instructions

Ok, no worries! If you don't mind trying the disabled application hooks, I'd be curious to find out if that makes a difference :)

I've disabled Application Hooks, restarted DF to make sure the change has been applied

The issue is still there

Ok, thanks Erzha! At the moment, I'm out of ideas then. I'll do a bit more testing to see if I can get it to happen here, and if I can, we'll definitely get it fixed up :)

Thanks!

Small update:

Disabling multi-monitor taskbars fixes the issue
At the moment I'm using a trigger so that the multi-monitor taskbar gets disabled when I'm launching a game and restarts when I quit it and it works perfectly

Ok, interesting! I wonder if for some reason on your system when DisplayFusion forces its taskbar to the bottom (so that it stays below the full screen game) it's causing the other apps to pop up the z-order briefly or something. I'm really just guessing at this point, as I haven't been able to reproduce it here, so if you're happy with that workaround, we'll leave it at that until I can reproduce the issue here :)

Thanks for the follow-up!
